The "Kolbie Leap" is my shorthand for the remarkable senior year Kolbie Orum had for the Beavers in 2015-2016. For the prior 3 seasons, Kolbie was a ~2.5 point and 1.5 rebound per game player (over ~25 games per season and ~7 min/game played). In her senior year, she averaged 6.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, and appeared in all 36 games, with almost 23 min/game.
Going back a bit further, Kolbie's first 3 collegiate seasons might have been a bit of an anomaly, as she took her HS team to the 2013 Fraser Valley title after averaging 43(!) points and 19.5(!) rebounds over the final two games of the tournament. She totaled 1,916 points, 860 rebounds, 261 blocks and 239 steals in her junior and senior seasons. At the B.C. Senior Girls Triple A Championships in March 2011, she scored 135 points over four games.
For us to do well this coming season. some or all of the team needs to experience similar "Kolbie leaps"....could Sela Heide be a Kolbie Leap candidate?
Sela Heide has had an injury-riddled and unremarkable collegiate career, but she did as a HS senior average 16.8 points per game and 11.4 rebounds per contest, while adding 2.6 blocks per game. And as a HS junior, she scored 12.5 points, produced 6.3 boards, and collected 2.8 blocks per contest. The successful SR teams seem to have been inside-out teams with a skilled center to go with outside sharpshooters.
If Talea, Timea and Raegan do well as expected, the young guards keep growing as expected, it might come down to Sela (or Kelsey) taking that leap......
Go Beavers!

If you look at Heide's play /minute it appears she can play just fine at the college level. Her problem is solely health. If she can keep her kneecap in place she will be outstanding.
