The next two weeks are huge, with USC and @ ASU. In the "old days" the Trojans & Sun Devils were always at the top of the conference. (Both have improved from last year, but are beatable)
"I'm excited."

15-1 is Oregon State's largest margin of victory and most runs scored against Gonzaga since winning 20-4 in the Sunday game at Surprise in 2021.
One run is the fewest that Oregon State has held Gonzaga to since Jake Pfennigs and Cooper Hjerpe combined to hurl a five-hit win in Surprise in 2020.
It might not be the best Gonzaga team ever, but remember Oregon State's troubles with Gonzaga:
Gonzaga came to Goss last year the Monday after Easter and won 13-6.
In 2021, Gonzaga came to Goss the Tuesday after Easter and won 5-2.
In 2020, Gonzaga beat Oregon State in Surprise 10-4.
In 2019, Gonzaga beat Oregon State midweek at Goss 6-3.
Oregon State beat Gonzaga in 2009, twice in 2011, once in 2013, once in 2014, once in 2018, and in Surprise in 2019, a couple of months before the midweek loss.
In 2008, Gonzaga swept Oregon State twice in Spokane, 11-6 and 4-2.
In 2007, Gonzaga beat Oregon State 6-5 in Surprise.
In 2006, Gonzaga beat Oregon State 6-5 in Surprise.
In 2005, Gonzaga beat Oregon State 3-1 in Tempe.
A win beats a loss, like we experienced once to Gonzaga in each of the last four years.

Yes, we should all feel terrible about blowout this win. Zags started I think 1 and 11. They're solid lately. Say what you will, this is a nice win against a pretty decent team. RPI 157, SOS is 100 (not a strong schedule), 2nd/8-4 in a league with 15th RPI in the country, (3) teams with winning records, (3) teams below 100, (3) teams over 200. And, where in my post was there mention of "feeling bad"? Another dumb arse post that just makes crap up. We beat a weak team the way a weak team should be beaten when facing a stronger foe.

Today was nice and comfy...after the first handful of innings.

(Both have improved from last year, but are beatable) "I'm excited." Oregon State plays 21-win USC this weekend and 24-win Arizona State the weekend following. The Beavers only play one other 20+ win team the rest of the season and that is a midweek game against the 21-win Ducks. Arguably, the next two weekends probably represent Oregon State's most critical nine days until the Pac-12 Tournament. And a big Civil War Series win followed by a 15-1 win against a team that has been a thorn in the Beavers' side for the past four years leading into the USC and Arizona State series hopefully bodes well.

Lack of pitching depth and our hitters exposed them....kinda like Sunday vs hole
As the season goes on, I like our pitching depth more, and more

My old senior partner two firms ago asserted that he hated gerunds and refused to use them. Of course, he had no idea what gerunds actually were, so I learned to write in everything but active tense to try and speed things along. I left that place like 12 years ago right before the firm imploded and my senior partner told everyone in the business that he was going to quit the law to walk the Earth. Interesting place.

How bizarre. I really don't know how you could avoid using gerunds since the use of a gerund or an infinitive as an object depends on the verb choice, not the verb state or tense. You could stop writing altogether. Or you might quit enabling such a ridiculous old man. But then you would have been forced to consider making a career move. Rewriting sentences to appease and old man is crazy talk. You probably considered moving on, but I guess the pay was enough to put off looking for a new job.

The firm tended to attract interesting people, so I stuck around. The last entertaining person left in August, and I left in December. That was more than a decade ago at this point, though.
