This is absolutely a make, or break weekend. We get a chance to take down the high lighters at RPI 11.....we are at 68. ...and improve our conference record.....and knock theirs down.....if ur the Beavs u are up for this series big time!....beyond the usual reasons to be up for the quacks.
That said, I'm a bit skeptical we go to PK and win this series. They are hot right now. We have momentum coming off series win at Montlake but this hole team is a notch better I think. Gonna have to cut down on the mistakes, and have the bats goin.

A big question is who the starting pitcher will be Thursday. I think most coaches go with the midweek starter, and because of the double header last Saturday, it is much more likely that the Beavers go with a guy out of the pen. A giant hope that Hunter returns from being nicked.

Gonna have to cut down on the mistakes, and have the bats goin. Oregon pitching is not great by Pac-12 standards. Plenty of opportunity for hits by the Beavers based on the Oregon staff performance to date. With some good Beaver pitching, some timely hits, and some clutch defense I could see the Beavers winning 2 at PK. Should be an entertaining series if Oregon bats continue to hit and OSU finds their stride on defense/pitching. Runners left on base will be a key stat for Oregon.

If not starting, he may be be leaned on for innings, if whoever does start cant go long.

I ain't afraid of a duck. You shouldn't either. And neither should the baseball team.

On Reddit, a Uck fan was complaining that their pitching isn't quality and that their fielding is weak.
The key to victory is to exploit weaknesses. I think our pitching will be tested by their hitters and our pitching will test their hitters. That equation won't be an easy win for either team. But with our defense behind the pitchers, we should have an advantage.
So if our hitting can come alive versus their weaker pitching and fielding, we can come out on top.

I have a feeling this is our make it or break it from a season's expectations standpoint... Beavs take the series 2-1 not just this series but I think the next 8 games will determine our fate. 6-2 in the minimum. Win both league series and sweep Gonzaga and still have hope. Lose the league series and let’s get ready for Surprise 2024

FTd On that particular post, the hitting saved them. Maybe it was Saturday's game. I don't follow the green and yellow team, but looking quickly through their games, there are not many that are error-free. We need to capitalize on that. Donkey's laser infield hits might get through into the outfield this series.

Ferrer is still not 2022 Ferrer yet. 2023 Ferrer is still better than most everyone else we have in the pen. A not-quite-100% Ben Ferrer is probably about fifth right now behind let's say Brown, Mejia, Hutcheson, and Lawson.

FTd 12 unearned runs compared to Oregon State's 14 unearned runs. The Beavers have played two more game than the Ducks, so Oregon State basically has had one more unearned run than Oregon over the first half of the regular season. The Ducks have given up three earned runs in losses: two in the 10-0 loss to Santa Barbara and one in the 16-0 loss to UCLA. Basically, errors have not bit Oregon.........yet. But Oregon State typically is better able to induce errors more than most other opponents.
