It looks like Izzy is on her way to Kansas State based on her picture she posted. Bummer.... wish we could have kept her - great kid. It also looks like we got a couple hitters from Wake Forest and Bucknell. I also saw we landed Florida State setter Ava Pitchford. The team looks to be coming together for next year. I saw that Mychael was in the portal but she has remained on the roster for this upcoming season. Any other updates for volleyball?

I really HATE the portal. It’s getting increasingly difficult to “embrace” a student athlete, emotionally. I’ve ALWAYS hated that coaches could simply ignore contractual obligations (promises) they made in “good faith,” and leave student athletes they PERSUADED to join them in building a program at “X” university, for greener ($$$$$$) pastures. NOW the “student athlete” simply shrugs off any “moral” obligation a promise entails, leaving teammates and fans, instructors, coaches, and support staff for the SAME damn thing. It stinks.

We need to become a program women want to come to because we're always playing in the NCAAs, instead of one they want to leave because we're not.

This last season was tough. I think it may have something to do with it. I think it also has to do with Barnhart leaving. The Kansas State choice may have to do with the new coach being the Washington assistant and has coached against Izzy for the last few years.
I’m not a fan of the portal either. You get connected with a team and some leave. This next year will be different for sure.
