Obviously just click-bait at this point (especially with the portal), but: - No. 2 Utah - No. 6 UCLA - No. 9 Stanford - No. 18 Oregon - No. 20 Colorado - No. 21 USC - No. 25 Washington State - RV Washington
Arizona will likely bring in a lot of talent from the portal as well. A little crazy to put Oregon ahead of Colorado (and to an extent WSU) IMO. The Covid-19 additional year has definitely hurt OSU a little.

Oregon would be ranked if they had a roster of 12 graduating high school seniors leaving early for college.

Yeah it was Covid that put OSU in 11th place and continues to hamper progress into the 2023/2024 season. Anything to add Judge?

Maybe don’t have 4 players transfer last year and you might not finish 11th. And no, that has nothing to do with COVID

(sarc) I am just trying to figure out why the poster mentioned Covid. I thought maybe you would know the reason.

Schools like Utah, Colorado, and Washington State have greatly benefited from the additional year granted due to Covid-19. (Pili, Sherrod, Miller, Murekatete, etc.). My point was simply that school like Oregon and Oregon State haven’t really had the same benefit. Nothing to do with actual Covid-19 itself. Luckily 2020 is the last class that will impact.

I'm a fan of these 'way to early' rankings, but this one hurts without Oregon State on the list. Truth is, it won't take much for Oregon State to crack that list. It would likely take SR doing something he hasn't done well in the past, and that's land a star or two in the portal. Even without landing a star the Beavs will be much better (barring no major injuries or departures).

But, most every other team will also improve. In terms of just recruiting for next season, OSU is mid tier. So, how does an 11th place Pac12 team with issues scoring the ball, defending athletic teams, and so-so recruiting class "crack that list"?? In fact, looking at known returners and recruiting how does OSU crack the top 5 in the Pac12?

Right now, there are a number of teams who won't be improving if they don't land help this summer. Beavs will likely not crack the top 5 without a good addition this summer, unless they land a star guard and backup forward. The Beavs have had problems scoring the past two seasons. Anybody who pays any attention can see they are in much better position offensively this fall than they have been in years. Your answer to how do the Beavs "crack that list" is already in my original post, "land a star or two in the portal". If that doesn't happen, then the Beavs are left to hope the 2022 freshman grow up quickly, and a 2023 freshman is ready to play starting minutes and produce.

I'd rather have 2 power foreward/post players. I think that between the 7 guards/wings it can be made to work but if they can land a point guard it would be nice. It will be interesting to see how the freshmen will fit in. Donovyn has the skills and athletic ability to potentially give some solid minutes. With her court vision and passing ability she may end up at point. I doubt that she will start there, more likely a wing.
With Raegan and Timea healthy and a year behind them we will have a really good front court. If Talia gets back to 100%, which there is no reason to think she won't, she will be very motivated to excel. These are three elite players.

I think that Timea, Adlee, Beers, and TVO will each score 20 points in games next year.
The problems as I see it are-
Defense, are they going to be able to mesh together. From what I've seen I'd say yes.
PG, who is going to step up and take over from Bendu. My fond hope is that it will be Martha, but after seeing Hunter play I've got other hopes also.
No depth, if Mit really leaves then there is no front line depth. Really need help up front from the portal.

Priority 1 in the Portal is another solid BIG, like a Lauren Ware. After watching Donovyn and Kennedie, we will get PG minutes from these 2 next season--they just need to learn the OSU offense & defense. Barring injury to key starters and having a healthy TvO back, this team will be much better. Having played against the two NCAA finalists this past year, this team has a measuring stick to know where they need to be next season.

There are about 256 schools that are also looking for another solid BIG right now. Competition for that type of player will be fierce.
