Sure like what were seeing from Macias at the plate. Good eye, patient. That post did not age well. Agonizing game. Cal's lineup is filled with sub.-230 hitters and our first two pitchers nibbled and nibbled instead of just going after them, three-ball counts on almost everyone it seemed. And the weather sucked again, at least today it waited until the 7th to rain. I thought the team that lost today will be one of the two that miss the tournament, Utah being the other.

I still liked his AB. 6 pitch walk, 3 pitch SOS (oof), 4 pitch SOS, 1 pitch single. No strike out looking and got on base twice.

Both teams certainly played like they’re at the bottom of the standings. And a lot needs to get cleaned up before facing a Washington team who took the series at UCLA.

Pitching for the Beavs was solid this weekend.
In 3 games the staff WHIP = 1.0. That could go a long way.
btw, Cal staff WHIP was about 1.5.
Therefore, Beavers win the series.

The crazy thing in this slump is all the LOB. We could have had 10 runs in that game pretty easily if you just get a few timely hits. Not even close to the first game this season where that is true either. If they can just get it figured out...

I know a walk is good, but Forrester taking the walk to load the bases in the 8th was frustrating. The veteran was leaving the hard work to someone else. If your veteran isn’t going to knock in the winning run, who will? Answer: Nobody. We wait for the wild pitch.

Like Kane bunting in the 7th, with two outs and a guy on second. He's one of our few guys who can drive the ball, that's what we needed.
He got a base hit, but left the hard work to the next guy, who has one career hit.

California and Wazzu battle for the last spot. Wazzu started 3-1 in Pac-12 play and (between Oregon, Gonzaga, and USC) now are on a six-game losing streak. We caught the Cougs at the wrong time, which is, as usual, a very Beaver thing to do.

What a perfect ending to perfectly terrible game. Go Beav's Please take your Bats up North. This sums it up......ugly series. Hope Beavs can parlay it, and hopefully U dub comes back down to earth.....they just took the series at UCLA. That's impressive.

It also means that USC, Oregon, and zags will not be easy for us .....the conference is very tough, top to bottom, this season.
