osubeavers.com/news/2023/3/24/womens-track-field-willamette-invitational-up-next-for-beaversA "small" contingent of tracksters will be going to Salem; there will be some interesting races to watch: - 800m: two OSU runners (Ava McKee, Sydney van der Zee) will compete. It will be interesting to see times for this early in the season; we've already seen big jumps in performance for a lot of athletes. Ava is a Frosh and Sydney is a Soph. - 100H and 400H: Anneke M has shown huge improvement in the 100H so it'll be a great race between her, Delaney B., and Adael S. The 400H will be a matchup between Adael and Taylor Weidinger, who have both seen great strides in the 400m - this will be another great race. Next week will be the first "big" meet(s) - the Texas Relays (sprints, jumps, throws) and the Stanford Invitational (distance team)

Not a warm day in Salem it looks like. Adael Scatena had an impressive performance in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 60.59 seconds - she's really upped her game a lot this year breaking her PBs in the 200, 400, and now the 400 Hurdles. The season has pretty much just started too!
I think there were a couple other PBs, but you can read about them when the article is posted later today.

Her hurdles time would have placed 8th at last year's conference meet. She'll have to run under 53.50 in the 400 to place at Pac-12. Hurdles looks like the place she can score.

Drove by the track today. Once construction is finished we will have a very nice college facility. Not Hayward Field of course, that's killing a mosquito with a sledge hammer, but more than nice enough for our needs.

The High Performance meet is 4/28 - 29, and it's their only home meet. My guess is that it won't be finished until next season.

Spectators will be limited to the soccer-stadium side, and maybe around the end zones. It will be worth it, tho.
