What does our line up look like going into next year? A spring recruiting period still awaits, but probably more of an impact are transfer portal additions. We've used the TP in the past with varying success.
25 Brandon Kaylor-Sr 33 Gabe Whisenhunt - F 41 Cleveland Belton - Sr 49 Noah Tolentino - F/Tristan Lara - Sr? (does Lara come back after his surgery) 57 Isaiah Crosby-Sr 65 Mathew Olguin -Jr 74 Mason Reiniche-Jr/Kekana Fouret-Jr? 84 Trey Munoz-Jr 97 Ryan Reyes-Sr (RS)/Isiah Anderson-F, or do either Stephens/Ruchti bump up to this weight and challenge? 285 Charlie Hastritter-So
Coach has been big on RS the incoming freshmen. Also using them where it makes sense for experience (<5 to not burn their RS). I'm not positive on Reyes coming back. Same on JJ, not sure if he's done. Also my class standings on guys listed above are best guesses. With the CV year, I reserve the right to be off by a year, haha :-)
Weights to target for transfer, in order of importance, IMO: 285, 197, 157, 149, 174
Your thoughts?

If McKinney comes back I think he will challenge that 197 spot... He bumped up the last part of the season and started some matches and looked pretty good. He looked energized at 197. He's a big kid and I think he could fill out a little more. If Reyes comes back I think it will be a battle between them unless one of our younger kids makes a jump over the summer.
I think 149 will be between Tolentino and Jacinto the transfer from Clackamas. Garver looked pretty decent too having only wrestled part of the season. ' 174 will be an interesting one as well. I think we have two decent guys there that could fill that spot. It will depend on the summer development. Kekana has a tall frame - I think he could add some pounds there an be a decent size 174.
I think we will get some/a transfer in as that seems to be the trend for all teams now. I am sure the coaches are looking at some guys as I type. I was really surprised when we landed Gas Tank Gary, so you never know what could be happening. One thing that I will say, is that I trust the coaches and the job they are doing. Wouldn't surprise me that they didn't even take a nap on Monday but got right to recruiting and planning.

I’m kinda thinking the same thing all the way up for the most part. Pretty sure Crosby has 1 or 2 more years of eligibility. Hope he’s back. Anderson has dropped a bunch since arriving, more like 174 I would guess. He looked pretty lean, hope that shoulder surgery heals well. Radamacher is a stud and could challenge for that 174 spot out if the gate IMO. Reyes hopefully returns, McKinney looked good, Ruchti has grown, Stephens is strong. Hopefully these guys push each other hard for the 197 spot. Big shoes to fill with Harvey leaving. Newcomer out of California is a unit probably slated 184/197. Halstead probably in that mix. Good stuff. Can’t remember if JJ is back but Chuck is going to make gains I feel. Not mention Hvy WT talent coming in. Future should be good with development.

Do we know Crosby is coming back? He listed as a senior. I thought roster had Crosby as a junior. Pretty sure he had 2 years juco, RS year at OSU then his RS-junior this season.

For what it's worth, my recollection of the senior day kids who were recognized at the last home dual:
Shaner Gurr McKinney Harvey Reyes Dixon Uyesaka
They did a few interviews with each on twitter/instagram as well.

Yah good list. Went to Stanford (last) dual, also the after gathering up in wrestling room. Coach gave each Sr. about 5 mins to talk. All on your list + Tanner spoke. Mat O. also spoke. After the social I was leaving the room and other underclassmen on the team were too. I asked them who our 197 would be next season and he said Reyes 'he has a RS'. But I've heard coach talk like he's done also. Have to wait and see. The team banquet isn't until May. More may be known by then.
I like the stable of young guys we have plus those coming in. Eventually have to turn them loose. Next season we should be in line to host PAC-12.

Two OSU wrestlers in the portal - Meinzen and Kuenzi. Understandable. Gonna happen more until we become a constant top 10 program, and even then it'll still happen.

Yep - With the roster improving every year it's going to be tough to crack the lineup. Two great kids - I don't blame them for wanting to start somewhere. Good luck to them wherever they end up.

Different teams, same conference: Stanford Griffith and Eischens are now in the portal. Truax announcement expected soon.

Truax back down to 184 at Penn State... Loved that 2022 Pac-12 final with Trey. Will be interesting to see where the other two land. It's kind of a bummer to see top wrestlers from the Pac-12 head out. Having NCAA champs and AA give the Pac-12 some respectability.
