Last 3 losses:
UNR: in 2/3 of an inning Beav pitcher gave up 5 hits / 4 runs
Stanford gm 1: in 2/3 of an inning Beav pitcher gave up 4 hits / 4 runs
Stanford gm 2: in 1 inning Beav pitcher gave up 5 hits / 4 runs
Big innings are a part of the game, but once a pitcher has given 3 hits in an inning, why give them the opportunity to give up a 4th and a 5th hit?
It seems that the relief staff is deep enough to remedy this. Several relievers have been outstanding.

Totally. Were not getting beat bad. All these games were a few mistakes or a good hit from wins.

It seems that the relief staff is deep enough to remedy this. Several relievers have been outstanding. Nevada game, it was the starter in the first inning. No one has people throwing in the bullpen in the first inning. Stanford Game 1: It was a reliever who got torched. The guy put in the game to end the rally, just as you suggested. Stanford Game 2: It was a reliever starting the inning who got torched. A fresh guy put in the game, just as you suggested. And he had two outs and only one run allowed, you're hoping he gets the third out. In each instance you cite, a fresh pitcher was on the mound, but did not do his job. You can't continually get other guys up and warmed up in the bullpen BEHIND THE GUY YOU JUST PUT IN unless you're relatively certain you're going to use them immediately. Dorman was obviously expecting Larson, Ferrer and Lawson to pitch more effectively than they did, and longer than one inning.

Today's Sunday game: "3 hit rule" (give up 3rd hit in an inning and you're gone) adhered to, even though Hunter had only thrown 51 pitches. Seems to be working out for Beavs.
Jimenez is just one of the excellent arms the Beavs have available. Glad to see him in there early. Lattery and others still available.
