I agree a bit, but in the end we aren't coming back just running the ball. We also aint winning this game, so time to try doing some things. I think the defense played admirably, but they've been out there too long.

This is utter BS.
Anyone who defends this staff by blaming Riley is out of their minds.
The OC had no clue. We had chances to sustain 4-5 drives in their territory on 3rd and shorts. But we threw it. How many passes well behind our receivers dues he have to throw? How many turnovers?
DC has yet to assist to trips. Walk the coverage of more why don't you? Send only three on long yardage and give Rosen 4+ seconds to find guys running free.
Was not a fan of old staff forr several reasons. But, my friends this is not a good or deep UCLA team at home, in the rain.
This staff had a lot to prove and it has ZERO yup do with the players Riley left. Believe me, tix will be very very easy to get next year. Tied of hearing excuses.. We had players enough to compete yard for yard with a very good Utah team in the road then this.
Give whatever excuse you want this is all on the coaching staff. It's amidst comical... 250+ yards given up in a little less than a quarter. Stalking dives by or own play calling.
Hopefully the recruiting class actually signs in Feb so this staff has less excuses.

Perhaps you should count backwards from 1000 before posting. Your rage is interfering with your ability to write coherently.
For the record, NOBODY with any football knowledge (other than you, apparently) thought the team we started the year with (prior to losing a bunch to injury) was any better than worst in the PAC 12 this year. Did anyone say we'd be THIS bad? Not that I know of, but let's face it: There's bad and there's bad. Nobody really differentiates between sh*tty and Sh*tty.
Are we bad? Yup. Worse than most of us thought we'd be? Yup. Is it this staffs' fault that sometimes things are worse than they could be? Maybe. But sometimes a few trinkets get broken when the firemen are trying to save your house from an inferno.
I'll take someone's season tickets when they sell them off cheap next year.

If you're so all in, how about you pay full price through the AD. Never have been, probably never will. Nothing against Andersen, Riley or OSU. The value isn't there for me. I graduated from another school that I support from 2000 miles away. I happen to live in Corvallis and have been a supporter of OSU and many of their athletic programs for almost 20 years, since I arrived. I liked Riley and think he did great things here. I also think the job became stale for him and it showed over the last few years. Andersen is new here, excited to change things, and has proven he can do it. That makes me like him. Could he or anyone else that OSU could afford change everything that needed change in less than a year? Hell no. This team sucked a$$ last year and lo & behold, they still suck. But I like some things I see. I didn't see ANY change coming under Riley; it would have been more of the same. Will Andersen fix it? I don't know but at least I have hope. If he does, maybe they'll lure me and my billfold back to the games. In the meantime, I'll be at Gill or the soccer pitch.

Tony Tony Tony. You must not read the new board much. Riley is mentioned often and always in a negative regarding the "state"he left the program.
As far as the comment most thought we'd be bad, but not this bad. Well... Hmmm, being lacking talent or experience is one thing BUT for a staff to consistently talk their players down... We need to be bigger, stronger, tougher... coupling it as an excuse... Is wearing enough. Can't imagine what it says to the current players let alone being a player hearing it everyday.
Add that to the fact we now may be worse off in the same areas as we were previously... ridiculous play calling/sequencing when going by actual game play (averaging 4+/ carry early on yet we throw on 5 different 3rd shorts in UCLA territory... our 120 yds and 9 min of possession in the first qtr could have been much more and maybe resulted in points!) and what's available/happening, but not what your pre- game script says... Red zone scoring/scoring in general... getting first downs/rhythm for a rhythm type offense... or...
Disorganization... wrong personnel, late play calls, late substitutions, calling a to before you run your first play of the 2nd half? Really? What did you do all of halftime? Or the 3 minutes UCLA drive down to score?
Not too mention the questionable evaluation of talent... position changes then back, LBs who once started then never see the field... leading tackler from last game sees little action to begin this game yet not injured. A seemingly co-#1 qb who seemingly is so bad/deep on the bench, that your old seemingly distant #3 qb can turn it over 4 (easily should have been 5) times, doesn't have a pass to the front side of a receiver basically all day, and never get in until mop up time.
Yep, you're right I thought we'd be bad... W/L wise... Not staff wise!
OSU is shelling double or more for this crap... the same crap we all wanted improved before.
Same song, more expensive cover to dance

And... by the way, Andersen had not "proven" anything here, nor at Wisky as little (almost none) of those key players were "his". In fact, I believe his qb there is now a TE? Ya Ya... different type of system. But, Mitchell is now our starting qb? Lol
If you want to count Utah State... yikes, we'd have 4-5 wins with this team playing that schedule.

I think it's laughable that you or anyone else thinks they know better than Andersen or Riley or any other coach who has ever smelled ANY success at the collegiate or professional level. State your credentials or continue to sound like a buffoon. By the way, Riley's teams is playing on TV right now. It's not looking good (again) but there's always hope.

Buffoonery is someone who thinks you have to have credentials to state opinions on a message board. LMAO
What are your credentials to state you have the market on what others can say? Lol
Wow

Lol. Well reasoned argument, Baseba111.
I am smart enough to know that I don't know anywhere near enough to coach a Division 1 football team. My perspective on this matter is simple. Football, to me, is for entertainment only. I watch it for that purpose only. Several years ago I was attending EVERY home football game. A couple years later I was attending half the games. Two years ago, I attended 2 games. Last year I saw one, but only because the ticket was given to me free. We lost that game (like we had lost both of the previous games I had attended) and I swore I would not attend another game coached by Riley.
At face value I liked the Andersen hire. Am I sure he can fix things? Nope. As I said, I don't know enough to make that prediction. I do still have a belief that he may fix things. I am all but positive that Riley had NO chance of turning things around. Am I sure? Nope again. But I have a feeling... that is currently being proven by the problems he's having in Nebraska right now.
I am not trying to tell you or anyone else what they can or can't say. The internet is full of all sorts and I'm not the gatekeeper.
By the way, here's the definition of buffoonery:
NOUN behavior that is ridiculous but amusing. - Oxford Dictionaries
As an observer, I find people who take your tone and make pointed, accusatory statements to be buffoons. I stand by that.
