Kennedie and Donovyn will face off today at 3:15 PM at the Chiles center as Barlow and South Medford will meet in OSAA 6A State Semifinals. A rematch of last year's semifinal which was won by Barlow. My guess would be that South Medford will be the favorite in this one, but it'll be nice to be guaranteed to have a future Beav in the championship. On the other side of the bracket, No. 1 Jesuit will meet No. 5 Clackamas, which will feature Sofia Bell vs. Jazzy Davidson. Clackamas has a slew of other future Division 1 players as well -- they're pretty loaded. You should be able to find the game on this link (not sure if it's free or not): www.nfhsnetwork.com/associations/osaa/basketball

Nice lead in Beaverwbb fan, thanks for the good info and reminder, I'll be watching, paid account, but sometimes they are free. Either way, you can listen for free as I mentioned elsewhere in the recruit threads, on the link "broadcast coverage" under the bracket, with live stats and play by play: www.osaa.org/activities/gbx/brackets?div=6A&year=2022

Went to the game. Both Kennedie and Donovyn are very good athletes. Donovan was playing on a much better team than was Kennedie in this game. Donovyn is a very complete basketball player. Has great size and I believe will definitely get decent minutes in her freshman season. Donovyn can play the PG position and a wing. Very good defensive player. Never heard much about her offense, but she was impressive in this game including 3-point shooting. Kennedie was disadvantaged in this game because her team just wasn't as strong. Kennedie can also play PG and wing. Not as tall as Donovyn, but quick as a cat. It will be interesting to see how OSU will use each of these 2 players in the rotation. I like both these recruits because they very solid defenders--both move their feet very well.

Love getting the in state kids, because they are closer to home, and they have family close when they get homesick.I would rather get 3/4 star recruits from Oregon than 4/5 star recruits from 1500 miles away. Too,I like the fact that their teams are successful. The more winners we can get,the better. Two players I expect to contribute day one on campus.

part of the OregonLive article:
What he saw: Some wide eyes, and maybe a little shock at how noisy the environment at the Chiles Center truly was. Donovyn Hunter, the star senior guard of the No. 2 Panthers, could sense it too. “I told my team before we left (to) focus on the defense, because once you get a steal, your nerves start to go down,” she said. They got the memo, and it made all the difference as the fast-breaking Panthers turned defense into transition offense over and over again Friday as they roared past No. 6 Barlow 71-33 and into the state championship, where they’ll face No. 5 Clackamas. Barlow took a 4-2 lead with five minutes and 45 seconds left in the first and never led again. The Panthers raced them out of the gym, using a 20-0 run over the ensuing five minutes — which included five steals, four of which came by way of Hunter — to effectively extinguish any chance of a repeat from Barlow’s semifinal win over them one year prior.

Kennedie's team was overmatched to say the least. They don't really have anyone who can create besides Kennedie and overall the South Medford players were longer, stronger, and more athletic. Thought Kennedie had a couple of really nice moves to the hoop. She has a nice, shifty handle and a pretty quick first step. Hunter is really solid, and she's got really quick hands. Nothing flashy, but was finishing well and getting her hands on every ball. Interested to see how she performs against Clackamas today, which has a lot more talent than Barlow.
