B5 vs San Diego, Forrester advances to 2B on a double. Cedillo in to pinch hit for Casper. Cedillo shows bunt, catcher receives and instantly throws to second. Forrester caught with too big a lead and picked off.
Was it too big a lead or was he expecting the bunt to be made?
Where was the disconnect on this pitch. Was Forrester to aggressive with his lead, did he expect bunt-steal based on sign, was that the sign given, did Cedillo miss the sign?
If it was a bunt take call, Forrester would/should have known the catcher is probably going to come up throwing which leads me to suspect someone missed the call or Cedillo didn't execute the call.
Anyone have any insight or thoughts on what happened?

We took the bat out of Cedillo's hands and wasted an out by even thinking about bunting in that situation.

The runner is supposed to wait until the ball is on the ground before taking off. Forrester got too big of a lead. Jim Wilson even noted that they were taught to throw back to the base if a batter missed on the bunt attempt.

We took the bat out of Cedillo's hands and wasted an out by even thinking about bunting in that situation. At this point in the season, as we've seen from the lineup changes, the coaches are still determining how guys will respond, execute, and perform in game situations. We dont' know for sure what sign was given, but sometimes coaches want to see if a player can and will follow the order given. I don't want to imply I'm placing blame on Cedillo for not following orders, I'm not since I don't know what the orders were. He did show bunt so it could of been hit and run, a take, or a judgement call based on the offering. Ultimately it was learning experience that didn't impact the final outcome.
