Protective fencing and construction stakes now in place between 9th and 11th Streets in the open field between Monroe and Madison. A new grad student dorm is going there, had to go through the NIMBY process and then delayed by Covid.
The new science building is also going in along Monroe at some point in the future, west of the Harris Cultural Center. I avoid that street when school is in session and these construction projects won't make it any easier to negotiate.
Land next to Washington Way has been cleared, lots of trees cut down by the tennis courts but no major road work yet. WW is being moved to the north to remove it from railroad right-of-way.
They are also still working on the Withycombe Hall renovation.

Yes, well underway, forgot that, nice catch.

A new webcam for the new graduate student housing project along Monroe east of lower campus is up and running. Monroe Avenue is along the top of the picture, 11th Avenue on the left side. The Jensen Gate on lower campus is just off-frame to the left along 11th Avenue. webcam.oregonstate.edu/udh

Bulldozers now on site and working on lower campus.
And for us Corvallis residents, they have finally started working on the two-lot section of vacant land on the south side of Grant, east of Kings past the curve. It's been an empty, trash-accumulating eyesore for about two years, our own little piece of Detroit. Looks as if they collected enough discarded tires to open a Les Schwab store.

That property on Grant was the previous site of two meth houses that were part of one of the largest meth busts in the county a few years back. Accordingly, there has been a lot of environmental issues that needed to be addressed before the construction of anything on that site could commence.

Wouldn’t have gone anywhere NEAR it without HAZ-MAT gear.

Good info to share with my walking group the next time we go by it. That neighborhood has been substantially improved lately, the recently built apartments across the street also replaced a couple of run-down shacks and vacant lots. The white house on the NE corner of 20th and Grant could be a real gem if it wasn't a rental.

The turf for SLP is down there, rolled up by the tennis courts.
They put new sidewalks in down on Grant, and curb and gutters, but no construction has begun yet.

What’s going on at the Kerr Admin building?

What’s going on at the Kerr Admin building? I believe they are relocating the 15th Street sidewalk further west so it matches up with the new sidewalk coming down from the PRAX. City code now mandates a 6-foot (I think) buffer between the street and the sidewalk on new construction. The old sidewalk was flush with 15th street.
