Meck was the definition of persistence for us. I would not doubt that guy in pursuit of his dreams.
You could see it in the way he played too. Even in high pressure moments and big games he was always pretty relaxed and delivering with regularity. I would guess he could handle that because hes been under massive pressure to improve for most of his career just to get a shot. When everyday is slaying Goliath Stanfords Friday Ace might not seem so tough.

I've read some about him before and am amazed at his self-awareness. Methodical and cerebral. Sounds like a mechanical engineering student talking about his swing. Thanks Ocho for posting the link.

4'10" 75 lb HS freshman....haha
Mecklers story is one of perseverance. I would not be surprised if he makes it to the show, and has success at that level. He, and Kwan, may be my all time favorite Beavs. How can you not love stories like theirs? Epitomizes the underdog spirit, which is perfect for Oregon State.

That's ridiculously small for that age, and I have kids playing HS and 14U baseball who are considered small, and they are what I'd call "late bloomers", but they're WAY bigger than that. At least he knew that his mom was a college athlete, so he had the athletic ability in his genes. Both of those numbers are below 5th percentile for 14 year-olds. Add the fact that if you're playing at that size, you probably have a motor like nobody's business.

I remember a short interview he did with Parker and Mike asked him what he planned to do with his degree, and Wade said something along the lines of "nothing, because I plan to be playing baseball til I'm forty."
