When we have seen an OSU Freshman post with this presence and skill set? Goin' right at Murekatete and scoring through contact.
As far as I know - never. Not even Tanja Kostic.

The women's game has changed so much so fast that it is hard to compare players from different generations. The game now is way more physical. Tanja and Carol Menken-Schault were great for their time and it would be interesting to see how they would have handled the pressure.
Raegan is the best of the Rueck era by a long shot and I think she would have an easier time playing in the earlier time than the other way around. I think she is the strongest post in her class and one of the strongest in college ball. And yet she has a very soft touch.

I really appreciate that she knows who she is and what she does well. I also appreciate that a pass into her is not a shot no matter what, which is how I felt about Taylor Jones. And while Beers isn’t racking up lots of assists, she is averaging more Assists than TJ ever has, including 5x more this season.

The portal gives and takes. Because there was room on this roster we all got to experience Raegan's talents and watch her do some amazing things her first year.
As I've mentioned in other posts - because Raegan, Talia, and Timea are all going on a Beavers Beyond Borders trip to Panama I feel confident that they will return.

Indeed, imagine if Raegan were just picking up spot minutes behind KB and TJ. Or if she did take their PT, how disgruntled they'd have been sitting on the bench behind a true Freshman. |
