I cut the cord and went with a Roku device recently. Sure Apple TV is on there, but I haven't opened it once because I have Sling TV. Even on one app like Sling switching channels is less convenient than Comcast, but I have so much going on right now I hardly notice the difference. I went with Roku and Sling to get away from the ridiculous price of Comcast. Now I have to pay another $10/month for Apple just so I can watch Pac12 football? But, if I want to watch the actual Pac12 channel I have to go back to Sling. And, if I want to watch any of the broadcast channels I have to change the input on the TV to the antennae we have now (which works great BTW). Keep this up, and I will be right back where I started on price, with a WAY less convenient system. Have to agree, going from App to App on Saturdays is a non-starter, and the pay factor will only further isolate the Pac12. Apple TV sounds interesting, but all things considered it's probably the death knell of the conference at this point. It’s cheap, but clunky.

FUBO has 4k streaming and I believe some of the games are in 4k as well. At least the week we did the free trial the games we watched seemed to have a better picture switching back and forth between it and Sling. Between that and FUBO carrying the local network channels with a better picture than our antenna we dropped Sling. Cable alternatives will probably come and go, but streaming will probably win in the end. Starlink, or a currently unknown another like it, has the potential to replace cable internet in the not too distant future. Times they are a changin'. I always liked the 2004 highlight video that thomasg86 put together, which originally was set to Bob Dylan's song above, if I remember right. Great video synced, once upon a time, with a great song: Yeah, I should reupload that if I can find the original. I think YouTube would allow the audio now, any revenue would just go to artist. You remember correctly!

Interesting article written by the Utah Utes beat writer about the Pac-12 Media Rights deal from her perspective and contacts. It sounds promising as she mentions ESPN for Linear tv and both Amazon and Apple are in negotiations for the streaming rights. The negotiations with Amazon and Apple are dragging the process out because they are new to the live sports realm. Here's the article: kslsports.com/499432/opinion-making-sense-of-the-latest-pac-12-media-rights-rumors/

"Give me a break" That really affirms my belief about how Dennis Dodd stacks up as a sports "journalist."

Here's the article: kslsports.com/499432/opinion-making-sense-of-the-latest-pac-12-media-rights-rumors/ I love Mark Harlan's (Utah's Athletic Director) response to Dennis Dodd yesterday! "Give me a break" That really affirms my belief about how Dennis Dodd stacks up as a sports "journalist." That one gave me a chuckle, too! Interesting, though. I have read a lot of articles and watched a lot of youtube videos regarding the Pac 10 media rights. It seems to fall into two camps: most of the national media, including a lot of Pac affiliated people on the west coast, say that the Pac 12 is doomed. UW and uo will head to the Big 10 at a bargain price and that will trigger the four corner schools to bolt shortly thereafter. Or, the four corner schools are already fed up with Kliavkoff and are gone very, very soon, no matter what uo and UW do. Then there is Canzano, Wilner, and Michelle Bodkin, whom I just heard of today when I saw her article regarding Pac media rights. Those three write that the Pac 10 is closing on a deal but the details are complicated. They expect the Pac to sign for a deal similar to what the Big 12 got. Here's the interesting part: Out of all the articles I have read and youtube videos I have seen on the subject, no matter the writer's belief in the Pac 12's fate, direct sources are rarely quoted (and I wouldn't expect them to be). It is almost always "sources in the industry" or "sources within the [Pac 12/Big 12]." It is so rare to actually see a name directly involved in the process quoted. I can think of only four: 1) The Pac 12 Presidents putting out the unity statement, 2) the CEO of Scripps Sports (Ion TV) who said that Scripps and the Pac 12 would not be entering into an agreement, 3) Utah AD Mark Harlan's tweet that you just quoted, and 4) Harlan's tweet some months ago that said, "We're not leaving!" in response to another article about the death of the Pac. Since direct quotes are so rare they are treasured. Especially when they are as succinct and to the point as Harlan's!
