My expectations are "low" I suppose in the sense that my self-esteem isn't negatively impacted by OSU sports losses. Football cured me of that in the 70's-90's and Men's Basketball in the 90's-present. Those OSU sports that are successful are unmitigated pleasures and total "bonuses". Just my way of looking at it. I've never lost a fraction of a second of sleep over any OSU loss since Rolando Blackman cured me of that foolishness cold-turkey, nearly 40 years ago.

So, so true. There have been disappointing losses since then--as well as glorious wins--but the Rolando stab endures forever. Nothing touches it.

The only way I survived living through 28 straight losing seasons in football was to have NO expectations.

As I stated on another thread, I attended OSU during the Kragthorpe/Pettibone "eras". In fact, my cousin was the starting QB for a season or two even though it was probably not his "calling." That being said, it's easy to get lulled into complacency and begin accepting mediocrity. Tough love is what's needed here.
