The meets (Kirby Classic and UW Husky Classic) have another day to finish up, so there are no write-ups yet on the OSU Beaver's site.
Two new records as of today at the Don Kirby Classic in Albuquerque, NM:
Adael Scatena beat the indoor 200m school record with a time of 24.54. This beats the D'Arpino twins' old #1 & 2 marks of 24.65 and 24.67 (Kerissa and Venessa respectively).
Delaney Bahn set the indoor Long Jump record at 20'-1.5" (beats the old indoor mark of 19-7 by Ann Wingeleth, and the outdoor mark of 20-1.0 set by Colleen Gibson and Anneke Moersdorf).

If Scatena is faster than the D'Arpino's, she can scoot. But they never scored at a Pac-12 meet with the Beavers and Sullivan wanted Kerissa to transition into a 400M hurdler, where she could actually score some points. Scoring in the sprints is one tough deal in the Pac-12. She resisted, they transferred, and never scored in an individual sprint event at UO either, IIRC. They couldn't score in the 400 at the conference level, either, they should have transitioned into the 800M.

I always wondered why the twins transferred to TSDTR. Venessa in particular had some great improvement after her xfr, so I wouldn't necessarily say that Adael is "faster". Venessa's OSU outdoor 200m record is almost a full second faster than the new Indoor, and her times dropped another 0.4s in both the 100m and 200m at Eugene (it didn't even get her into uo's top-10 in either event). If the twins would have stayed around, it would have helped our fledgling team -- but I know they probably had to follow their dreams.

Anneke Moersdorf has set the new Triple Jump record at 41'-2". It's interesting that Anneke jumped about 40 feet as a sophomore in high school, if Athletic.net is correct. This beats her previous indoor record of 39'-7.75" and bests her Outdoor record of 40'-9.5".
Keely McLaughlin has set a new Indoor record for the Shot Put at 48'-11.5". This beats the previous record of 48'-7" set by Kam Johnson in 1986. Keely also has the Outdoor record of 50'-4.75".

I think one of them won an indoor NCAA title as part of a relay team. But indoor is the equivalent of arena football, legends are made outdoors, not indoors. I'm not sure if they even competed in sprints at a Pac-12 championship meet after they transferred because UO was so deep. Being around better sprinters undoubtedly helped them get faster, but that may also have happened here too.
I think they also had an agent/advisor who was big on them transferring to a big-time program. I guess it worked out for them, once they left I didn't really think about them again. And if athletes don't want to be here, then everyone is better off when they are elsewhere.
Anyhow, good for Adael. It's nice to see the steady improvement of our program, Louie is a heck of a coach.

Looks like the 4x400 Indoor record has been broken again by a slight amount. Old record: 3:44.75 New record: 3:44.72
There will be a summary to link later tonight or tomorrow. It looks like a total of 5 school records have been broken at the two meets. More than anything, this shows the team is really improving. Going to have to pull out my Jackhammer shot glass and have a toast!

They quit updating the final results a few hours ago, for some reason. No record today for the 4x400, but there were other records...
