The WNBA is fantastic, IMO. Great, relentless defense. Excellent ball-handling and playmaking, fantastic shooting, intense play. The best women's players who ever played the game.
But they do need more teams. I would add two teams every two years for a while. They could have 24 teams easily.

For a long time I had little interest in the WNBA, but I've been watching more in recent years. Maybe it's more about individual players for me than the league as a whole, but I do find many of the games to be quite entertaining.

But I disagree with you on your assessment of WNBA talent..... Most of the players in the league are "flashy," they are "athletic," - but believe me, they are also fundamentally sound.... The fact that the refs are loosy-goosy in what they allow doesn't mean WNBA players are not fundamentally sound. They are. Their heater-skelter play makes their fundamental skills less noticeable - but they are there.... What you say reminds me of the days when many college fans said they didn't watch NBA because they didn't play defense. Also wrong. It's just that the style of play in the NBA makes the defense less noticeable to many fans.... Bottom line: SOME (maybe the bottom, non-superstar, huge contract 50%??) NBA players play good defense, and WNBA players are fundamentally sound. [At least, that's how I see it.] GO BEAVS!! There fixed it for you...

No one attends, no big TV contract/revenue, and the NBA does it's bare minimum to keep face. About 5 years ago Adam Silver stated the WNBA loses 10-12 mil/yr. In 2019, it was reported that the league brought in $60 million dollars in revenue. The NBA $7 BILLION... think I saw 2022 was $10 bil!! So, they can't even pay the 144+ they contract now enough without players having to seek other income/play overseas. Their last salary cap I saw was like $1.4 mil/team/12 players. Last list I saw had like (10-11) total players over $200k/yr. That's before agent/cpa/etc fees, taxes in multiple states/cities. At like the middle "ish" Sabrina makes like $76k. Prob makes more in the Oregon wbb job!
