Imagine what Pendleton would look like with Easton Corey pitching. The Bucks opened their season with a loss to Hanford, WA. a slpit with Walla Walla, and then reeled off 6 wins in a row, lost to Redmond, won 7 in a row before another loss to LaGrande and are back on a 7 game win streak.
The Buckaroos won the 4A Greater Oregon League with a 10-1 record, and have rolled through the OSAA 4A state playoffs by beating Newport, Eugene-Marist, and Gladstone -they will play for th e 4A championship against Scappoose. Game time is Saturday at 7pm at Volcano Stadium in Keizer. The Bucks are 22-4 without their ace, Corey.

Aligning eastern Oregon schools into a Conference that makes sense from a competitive equality and travel expense perspective is one of the great issues of the Universe. Pendleton "plays down" and Hermiston plays with the Tri City area schools.
. . . and then there are the "Greater Idaho" schools - Nyssa, Vale and Ontario that play a lot the Boise area schools.

The old Intermountain Conference (now I'm not sure. . . . was it called that?) Bend, Redmond, Crook County, The Dalles, Pendleton, Hermiston, LaGrande, Baker and Ontario.
