I tend to think that we are pretty slow to start with. It seems that most of the teams in the Pac-12 have someone faster than Oregon State's fastest. I do not see a huge transition threat from the Beavers. Oregon State ranks 10th in Tempo in the Pac-12. California and Wazzu play slower. But several other teams play even slower. Central Florida, Villanova, Houston, Wisconsin, and Virginia, for example, also play slower. There is nothing wrong with playing slow, as long as you generate shots. Oregon State continues to be the best-shooting team in the Pac-12 beyond the arc. However, the Beavers rank 10th in effective field goal percentage ahead of only Arizona State and California. The Beavers are not generating high-quality two-pointers. I still don't think that the offense is the issue, just because Tinkle has never run a great offensive system. Oregon State does not have the talent to run a great offense. The defense last year was what ruined the season. The defense is improved this year but still nowhere near where it was two years ago. The guys need to do a better job at holding the Pac-12 offenses in check. I don't agree with some points here. I think we have a number of players, namely Taylor, who could really benefit from more transition opportunities. I agree that slow tempo can be effective, but if the team is having trouble generating good looks using long-action offense it needs to adjust. l also think the defense has been improving, and frankly really good in conference play the past 5-6 games? The defense has looked a lot better the last four games. Before that, it was very, very inconsistent.

This team lacks two BIG men we can't match up right as a team without a consistent inside guy who plugs the lanes to the basket I'm thinking if Ibekwe continues to improve at the rate he seems to be improving we'll be improved inside. I've always pictured Andela as a good role player, I think Rataj and Bilodeau will be fine power forwards for us going forward and can fill in nicely when he moves on. If Mariol can recover, he really alters a LOT of shots defensively. If Marrs can come in and play well inside for a freshman at this level, that could be a huge addition.

Is Andela back next year? . I think he's gone but Im not sure. Either way I've seen him as a role player (which is a valuable thing to have) and I think we'll have a better solution underneath/inside in the future.

He hasn’t been healthy enough to be more than a role player this year. His knee is still bothering him.

I don't think Rod has been the same since the end of the elite 8 run. He was lost most of last year and he's been hurt this year too. I've seen flashes of the past this year but it's obvious he's still not right. Hasn't been right for a long time.
Which brings up another Beaver Big: Chol Marial. What is his future? I think he's done for the rest of this year. Question is, does he medically retire or give it go next year?

CM is very useful to put in to alter the opposition's shots for about 15-20 minutes a game. Its too bad we couldn't see more of him this year.

I think it was near the end of the Colorado game that Taylor took it upon himself to lead a one man transition opportunity. Streaked the whole length of the floor, put in the contested layup and got the and 1! IIRC, we were struggling to generate offense and Colorado was creeping back into the game, maybe only down a couple and that proved to be a pivotal moment. I would love to see more of that. Even if it is just Glenn, and even if it is slightly out of control. This is the play I was thinking of. No and 1 that was earlier in the game, but close to the end of teh game and stretched a 3 point lead into 5 (2 possessions):
