He's staying! Sky's the limit! Let's hear from the grumps.....we know we'll hear from them during the ASU game tonight.

I find it strange that any time we have a good player a certain number of posters immediately think he/she is going to transfer.
The good player can't enjoy attending OSU, just as most of the posters here who attended OSU did?
Have some faith in the attraction of your alma mater.

This freshman class has some nice potential. Pope, Rataj,Bilodeau, and the other three kids will take a nice step forward from their frosh to sophomore years. Just need to add a couple pieces to the roster to make 23-24 a fun year.

If, as you often say, the “grumps” only post when things aren’t going well, why do you conclude you’ll hear from them during the game? This would indicate that you’re suddenly pessimistic. Odd.

More bad news for the grumps: A) WT isn't going anywhere B) The team WT has assembled is growing every game C) They play hard and will win 3 to 4 more games this year D) The offense and defense are getting better E) Players make biggest jump from frosh to sophomore year F) KC Ibekwe is a rising force in the middle G) Look for this team to make noise next year

Is he going to modify his painful 3 guys standing around offense where we chuck up a forced trey w 4 sec left in the shot clock? That’s hurting us more than lack of talent this year. I assume you saw the last 5 minutes of this game right?

I assume you saw the last 5 minutes of this game right? I know Tinkle has never been about tempo, but man I think this personnel could use it. To be fair to Tinkle, his offense has consistently measured out pretty well in KenPom. But players like Taylor and Akanno could thrive with more transition offense, and Bilodeau and Rataj are modern-day frontcourt players who could stretch a defense a bit. The lack of spacing with decent shooters is frustrating.

Good points. We tend to lack size and have fairly quick players mostly. Not sure why we don’t ever try to do anything in transition. We instead slow the game down and utilize a pretty terrible half court offensive plan

I think, more than the attraction of the campus, this shows Pope is happy with Tinkle since these days players seem to be voting with their feet.

We instead slow the game down and utilize a pretty terrible half court offensive plan I tend to think that we are pretty slow to start with. It seems that most of the teams in the Pac-12 have someone faster than Oregon State's fastest. I do not see a huge transition threat from the Beavers. Oregon State ranks 10th in Tempo in the Pac-12. California and Wazzu play slower. But several other teams play even slower. Central Florida, Villanova, Houston, Wisconsin, and Virginia, for example, also play slower. There is nothing wrong with playing slow, as long as you generate shots. Oregon State continues to be the best-shooting team in the Pac-12 beyond the arc. However, the Beavers rank 10th in effective field goal percentage ahead of only Arizona State and California. The Beavers are not generating high-quality two-pointers. I still don't think that the offense is the issue, just because Tinkle has never run a great offensive system. Oregon State does not have the talent to run a great offense. The defense last year was what ruined the season. The defense is improved this year but still nowhere near where it was two years ago. The guys need to do a better job at holding the Pac-12 offenses in check.

I totally agree. It’s just that the last year and a half have been hard to stomach after an Elite 8 run. I really like Pope, Bilodeau, Rataj and KC. I just hope they all stay.

I think we have a number of players, namely Taylor, who could really benefit from more transition opportunities. I agree that slow tempo can be effective, but if the team is having trouble generating good looks using long-action offense it needs to adjust. l also think the defense has been improving, and frankly really good in conference play the past 5-6 games?

This team lacks two BIG men we can't match up right as a team without a consistent inside guy who plugs the lanes to the basket
