I know a guy that was on the crew that laid the track surface down. He said that it was a perfect pour. The ambient temperature, base (ground) temperature, humidity, track rubber temperature and consistency are spot on perfect. It should be a fast track.
I can't wait to sit and watch wine meets.

They've got 7 - count 'em - 7 webcams up for the RCRV boat. They out to have at least one up for this construction project. It should go pretty quick.

That should say watch some track meets, no idea how that turned into wine meets?! I haven't seen the plans but assume that they will be pretty basic and simple.

Those cameras are provided by the shipbuilder, not OSU. Pretty simple to install a webcam inside a huge facility like that, plus they are out of the elements and easier to maintain. Not many places to put a webcam for that part of south campus, perhaps on the soccer field press box. They have also removed the Goss Stadium webcam. Not sure what's up with that.

I know they’re proud of their RCRV but 7 webcams is overkill.

Being in the top 25 is a pretty big deal for the women's T&F program. It's been a slow climb out of obscurity, and not without its ups and downs. Recruiting in the past has been relegated to mostly hand-picking of the leftovers - I don't mean that in a bad way - most track athletes in high school haven't really thought of OSU as being a destination. There have been some great athletes that were diamonds in the rough (we have some of those diamonds right now).
Coach Quintana has brought out the best in many of our distance runners, and we're now seeing some upswing in our sprinters and jumpers. The throws group also seems to be fairly deep these last few years. Top-10 marks in the jumps, throws, and sprints aren't as easy to attain anymore, yet many have a ways to go to be competitive with many NCAA teams (except for some marks in the high jump in the 70s & 80s).
This year we'll get to see a handful of portal transfers that could have a big impact on meet scores. Besides our distance runners, this probably had a lot to do with the top 25 ranking. The distance group (along with the DMR) looks still to be our best hope for points in the NCAA championships. As with other sports, the transfers may or may not get acclimated and perform to their potential.
We've already seen the Indoor 4x400 relay record topped, and look for it to be easily crushed during the Outdoor season. The 4x100 record will possibly be beaten too, judging by the number of runners posting sub-12 second 100 times. The 400 Hurdles record has a good chance of being broken, as well as the Long Jump and Triple Jump. There might be more!
The biggest accomplishment so far has been the depth of our distance runners. Three freshmen really upped their game during the Cross Country season, and we have some new potential depth incoming with the next group of freshmen. We could see some Kaylee- and Grace-type performers within a couple or 3 years.
