Jade draws a crowd.
Yes, UCLA draws well for their home meets. But nothing like this. According to Jim Watson 10K plus in Pauley for UCLA v OSU.
So far,
9.925 UB (1st) 9.950 V (t2nd)

US stars Jade Carey vs Jordan Chiles. Oh my god Jade. If that’s not a 10 on floor I don’t know what the F is. She nailed both of those tumbling passes dead-solid-perfect. Including her double-twisting double-back.

Beavs lead after 3 events by .225. UCLA on floor, Beavs on beam.

They found that 0.05 for us. Looks like a scoring adjustment/correction because the announcers and the scoring link both had it per above at the end of the meet. This UCLA tweet indicates a change about 20 minutes ago.

Jade’s day in LA
In another sport I believe the might call this, “kicking ass and taking names”.

I know gymnastics rankings are a completely different animal from other team sport rankings. They’re based on actual scores, not votes. That said, in the past week OSU has posted a W vs #8 and a tie vs #6. It’d be nice to move up closer to top 10 territory from our current #16.

My wife and I were at this meet yesterday afternoon. 7700+ is a big crowd for gymnastics!
The 4' 11' star for UCLA (Jordan Chiles) was really impressive, but Jade Carey was better; both are Olympic and World Championship medalists, so it was quite a show.
As noted above, we walked out thinking that UCLA had won; I found out about the score adjustment on the drive back to San Diego. UCLA's flameout on the beam cost them the meet.

After watching the WBB team take a loss in Berkeley, the WGYM team’s strong performance on the road in front of 7.7K fans ended the weekend on a high note. Jade is a phenomenal athlete and competitor. We waited so long for her to kick off her career at OSU and she has not disappointed.
