As I watched the game I remembered thinking that the defensive plan is really strange. It was like some weird 4 - 1 defense when Mannen was in, 4 players were in a zone and Noelle was racing around and generally being a pain in the ducks ass. Somehow she knew where the ball was going to be next. Amazingly she didn't get burned.

My wife and I were walking out of the gymnastics meet yesterday in the second floor hallway and almost ran right into Mannen. I pointed at her with my finger so my wife would notice her, but she caught my eye and smiled--beamed--as if she knew what I was thinking. I said something which now sounds kind of lame like, "you really extended your reach on that last play" and we talked a bit about how thrilling was that play and beating the Ducks. For all the vibrancy and enthusiasm we see on the court, she's that much more enthusiastic in a conversation.
She'll be in my women's BB hall of fame forever for that last minute block of Gray. And on top of that what a great person to get to meet.

The Beavs play horrible in zone defense because they overshift and often had two players running to the ball. Both last weekend, and against the ducks the zone left shooters wide open.
