Saw him a number of times. One of the best players to ever pick up an electric guitar. He got tones and riffs from a Strat that no one else would even try to duplicate.

Dynamic player! The first “shredder,” but he did so with purpose. When I was young in the mid 60s, Clapton, Page and Beck were THE players who everyone that followed emulated. RIP

RIP The Yardbirds had all three as their lead guitar at one time or another. In fact Page played bass when Clapton was there

I don't know much of his early stuff, need to go check it out, but some of his later collaborations were amazing and showed his amazing range - some of my personal favorites: on Kate Bush's "The Red Shoes" album Bon Jovi "Blaze of Glory" song Roger Waters "Amused to Death" album And with Rod Stewart on the Curtis Mayfield classic remake "People Get Ready"....
RIP to one of the greatest guitar players.

RIP. Great guitarist. Love his album "Truth," as well as others. His version of Greensleeves..."Aye, that's a lovely 'toon.'"

I came across an excellent Jeff Beck documentary today - Jeff Beck Still on the Run. It's about an hour and a half long biography of his life made several years ago. It has concert footage and interviews with Jeff and other notable musicians like Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Ron Wood, Rod Stewart, Dave Gilmore, Jan Hammer, Beth Hart and others.
I highly recommend it for Jeff Beck fans. I'll definitely watch again when I have uninterrupted time.
