The former "chosen one". He's a little name to put his name in. It will be interesting to see where he ends up. I thought one article I read was funny. It said nephew of former football star Brock Huard. I guess they didn't realize that Sam's dad Damon played in the NFL a helluva lot longer Brock.

Brock was a bigger name throughout his high school and college career. He was more talented than Damon, when healthy, but that was rare. Damon Huard definitely had a better pro career, but Brock still owns most of the Husky records between the two. Brock also has a bigger media presence. I would be curious which article you are referencing. Both Brock and Damon tend to be more well-known in certain corners of the country than others.

At my cousin's wedding reception 20 or so years ago I visited with Brock and Damon's dad for quite a while. He was fun talking to and he knew had to throw back some drinks.

Damon has a national championship and 2 Super Bowl rings. I would take that over puppy passing records.

Mike Huard and Mike Riley were good friends; Mike Huard was one of the first to catch up with Riley after the 35-34 loss at Husky Stadium in 1998, they met and talked on the field. Had the Huards not been so invested in UW and lifelong Huskies, there is an excellent chance both of them would have played here.

I would be curious which article you are referencing. Both Brock and Damon tend to be more well-known in certain corners of the country than others. Damon has a national championship and 2 Super Bowl rings. I would take that over puppy passing records. Damon redshirted the year that Washington won the MNC. Damon did not play a single snap in 2001. Damon was third-string on the Super Bowl roster and did not see the field. In fact, at least according to the Pac-12, Damon did not receive a Super Bowl ring for Super Bowl XXXVI. In 2003, Damon Huard was third-string behind Rohan Davey, but the starting holder was hurt before week 14, so Huard was promoted to second-string, so he could hold on kicks. Huard played his only offensive snaps in the regular season finale after the Patriots jumped out to a 31-0 lead with less than eight minutes left. Huard threw an incomplete pass on third down and kneeled down the ball after the Patriots got the ball back with 13 seconds left. After the regular season ended, Huard was again demoted to third-string for the game against Tennessee, but Huard was promoted to second string in the AFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl. Huard was singled out by Bill Belichick as a phenomenal Peyton Manning impersonator and would usually play on the scout team in the week before New England played Indianapolis to help the New England ones on defense prepare. Huard is consistently on the list of worst NFL players to win multiple Super Bowl Rings. Damon Huard is a co-owner of a vineyard with Dan Marino. Brock Huard is an NFL sportscaster. Dunno. I would probably rather be Damon, all things told, but I don't think it's a no-brainer by any means.
