Apparently they did an audit on the accounts that have season tickets prior to renewals. They found 10 accounts for 66 seats that were being used for the purpose of resale. Well they can't resell them now, those 66 tickets have been pulled.

Couple questions. Does it say on the back of the ticket that resell, or an agreement on the website prohibiting resale ? Seems like it’s not any of OSU’s business. Also how were they able to figure out the tickets were being resold ? Does the scan of the ticket at the gate record the phone number of the phone with the tickets on it.

I don't know what the back of the ticket says or what we agree to in our season ticket agreement. But... how did they figure it out. Fairly easy if you are using the app and the ticket service connected with the app that they could see that activity. Something like selling every ticket....

Something like selling every ticket.... the guy I’ve seen selling tickets on Craigslist and at the parking garage has hard tickets. No big deal, just seems like the ticket office would have something better to do with their time.

They want to get the tickets into the hands of fans, not speculators.
Brian at the parking garage generally resells tickets given to him by those who have a spare ticket that day, and might not want to hassle with a secondary site. Not sure he has a season ticket himself.

Sara Elcano had more details on this on the Joe Beaver Show.
The digital ticketing enabled them to track the actual ticket usage. The season-ticket holders who had their tickets revoked were actually brokers, not real fans. So this is a good move.

This is great - ticket brokers are killing live events - the concert industry is a mess right now.
