Coach Dorman has supreme confidence in his ability to evaluate young pitchers (and I mean, really young) - he has to have because projecting 8th graders for college baseball can be risky business. Recently the Beavers received a pledge from Sammamish, WA. 8th grade pitching phenom, Eli Jones, this time it's another Beaver state product from Medford.
Grady Sickler is 5-11, 145 and is a RHP that also plays SS and 3B. RPG says he will attend South Medford HS.
A good call by this young in-state prospect.
Go Beavs!

Interesting. Grady goes to Cascade Christian Middle School with my daughter. Had no idea he’s was a pitching prospect. Bummer he’s heading to South but understandable that he’s making the jump to 6A. He’s the son of the Jackson County Sheriff. I watched him play AAU hoops last month and I doubt he’s 5’ 11”. Good kid.

Good info - hard to find anything on him at 13 years old. He's still well under the radar.
Cascade Christian ? Wasn't that where the Beaver TE Marty Mauer went to HS ? Think his Beaver Dad was the FB Coach there.

Yes I see Marty quite a bit around the field and gym. He’s got fraternal twin junior boys both playing hoops. His son Austin who’s close to 7’ has an offer from Tinkle. Other son Payton also plays football and Marty is on the staff. Has a younger daughter I believe who at least plays volleyball. I do think Marty’s dad coached there too. I didn’t go to CCHS but my kids do/did.

Man, I coached 13U ball last season, and while I saw quite a few kids who were really, really talented, I don't know how you can project any of those guys as D-I college prospects, especially if they're not 6'3" and 180# already.

That’s a typo. Apparently he’s staying at CCHS too.
