With a myriad on new NCAA roster rules - lifting of the scholarship distribution requirement, roster limit increased to 35 (40 if you have up to Covid relief guys from 2020), NIL Collectives, and most of all, the Transfer Portal.
Today on January 4th, there are 10 PAC-12 rosters listed on the University athletic websites. Here are the Roster sizes heading into the 2023 season.
UCLA - 36
USC - 40
Arizona - 39
Arizona State - 40
Utah - 36
Stanford - 35
California - 34
Washington - 39
WSU -40
Oregon - Lists only 19 returning players.
Oregon State - Roster is unavailable.
With almost 6 weeks until play begins, it appears these rosters are fairly settled with some possibility of a transfer pick-up later this month. All appear to be within the NCAA guidelines. Numerous coaches expressed the difficulty with this task and the uncertainty of players transferring without penalty.
