(29) Olmos with the 9-4 win over (4) Plott.
Great crowd and atmosphere in Gill. What a change from the Zalesky era.
After 4 matches
Ok St 7 OSU 6

I’d love to get a report from someone who attended. On TV it looked like an electric atmosphere. 6K+ fans and great meet staging.

6700 and change present to see the dual. My new in person record. We needed one or more of BK/Belton/Crosby to win their matches to have a chance. We were competitive. So so happy for Olmos and his efforts after all he has been through.

First time I’ve been to a wrestling dual at OSU since 2008, I just had to drive down for this match up. Official attendance was 6764. Oh if only Crosby and Kaylor scored decision victories at 157 and 125. A couple more takedowns or some near fall points, ah well.

Question for knowledgeable wrestling fan. Watching from TV in looked like some of the beaver wrestlers wrestled not to lose. 20-12 seems like a really low score. Was it just the opponent, or should the beavers have tried to be more aggressive and look to win the meet ? (Die tryin)

(Die tryin) How do you define wrestling "not to lose"? seemed like lots of neutral position or riding time. I just thought if the beavers were going to win the meet they needed to take chances trying for a big score. Again don’t know enough about the sport to say for sure

Again don’t know enough about the sport to say for sure Yes, you’ve got to be aggressive, looking for openings and working to set up your moves. “Taking chances” at this level can find you on your back looking up at the lights in a heartbeat. Defense and offense in wrestling, just like any other sport are equally important.

Excellent dual we could have won.... tons of energy in Gill... people were waiting outside in line an hour before the doors opened in order to get a good seat. A lot of alumni in the stands for this one. If you missed it, next year we will have Penn State coming to town... let's sell it out!
