Why did NCC come out west to Corvallis for this game? ....They turn around tomorrow and head back to Virginia for their next game...Played no one on the West Coast before the OSU game.... Seems pretty weird to me....Schmucked up their entire holiday for an essentially pointless game for both teams. Anyone know about this.... GO BEAVS!! Who cares? I don’t. I’m sure they had their reasons. |

Really like how Pietsch has been aggressive in going to the hoop so far Pietsch continues to show she can play. She has such a nice shot from all three levels. I especially like the way she pops the midrange jumper and doesn't take a lot of bad shots. Very good passer as well. Raegan had a subpar game.............just kidding. |

After the game the beavs huddled up and Rueck really shouldn't stand between Beers and Jelena, he looks like a third grader.
Beers is an animal in there, as long as she stays healthy she will be the best freshman post player in the Rueck era. And she has wheels. She is strong like Ruth and fast like Marie.
I've said it before but it really jumps out that the beavers are physically very strong, Lily is the exception. The other four freshmen are much stronger than average. Martha and Noelle are short but they aren't little by any means.
I really enjoy watching Adley play, she is like a tornado on the court. She was more in control today, I'm hoping that the game is starting to slow down for her. I'm not sure how she does it but with all of her bouncing around she doesn't lose her defensive assignment.
One other thing I noticed, they did a really good job getting the ball to Beers up high. The lob pass was working.

Was it just me, or did the Beavs use a lot more bounce passes than usual tonight?
Good to see Beers find her stroke at the free throw line. Beavs did a good job getting the ball inside to her, but NCC didn't have the tools to stop it. Different story when we get into conference play, but she sure looks good for a freshman.

Raegan struggles a bit with TO's. She's great around the basket, but faster, quicker players are a challenge. She'll find play around the basket won't be as easy in the Pac-12 and it will be tougher to get her the ball and for her to find ways to get open, but she's going to be a great one. I like how she is working on FT's as that has been an early season struggle. There is every reason to believe Raegan will work consistently at improving her game. I love the way she says "Go Beavs" at the end of her interviews. Best since Mik in that regard.
Good things are in the future for the Beavs. Adlee and Lily should both be nice contributors in years to come. We are going to be extremely disappointed in the team at times this year, but we should sit back and enjoy watching the youth play. Watching them develop and learn to play together will be one of the highlights of the year.

They are the team that couldn't make it out for a game last year because of weather conditions. We played them in 2017-18 at NCCU (and won) and they signed a contract for a home-and-home. They were fulfilling their end of the deal. |

I'm looking forward to seeing how many minutes our freshmen get this weekend as PAC-12 play begins. Will Adlee & Lily get minutes? Will Martha have a significant role at the point?
It seems Bendu is struggling to find her role on this team. I don't think Bendu playing the point is natural. I am hopeful that Bendu's contributions are significant this weekend, and she isn't forcing play.

Glad for the win. Echo the thoughts of believeinthebeavs - Martha and Noelle are not tall but play big.
Couple of things that really stood out for me- a lot of really long cross court passes in the half court offense. Rather new style - and not a lot of use of screens. Rueck trying new things - ??!!
Also, Beers spends A LOT OF TIME in the key. I'm curious when the refs are going to start calling 3 seconds. Love her play and hustle.
