But now he's made it a much better job, we should attract some quality candidates. Spain's guy is available.

Did a good job but I hope the next coach does it with more American kids. Why? All things being equal, sure. Hell, it'd be nice to have them all from Crescent Valley and CHS. But all things definitely are not equal, and the reason OSU suddenly became nationally competitive was BECAUSE we successfully recruited exceptional overseas players. I don't think any coach PREFERS to recruit players from the other side of the world in order to compete at the top level; why would they if that talent is available domestically (and can be convinced to play at OSU)? They do it because that's where the best players are. Kinda like the old bank robber quote; "That's where the money is". |
