In the summer of 2021, a skilled group of 12 year olds in Sammamish, Washington were selected and came together as All Stars representing the Eastlake Little League. Eastlake won 4 consecutive games on their way to the District championship, then won 5 more games in winning the Washington State Little League Championship. They followed that with 4 more wins and the Northwest Regional title which advanced the team to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.
In Williamsport, Eastlake lost their opener to Texas, beat Florida, the lost a close 3-2 game to Nebraska which sent the home to Washington. Eastlake won 14 of 16 tournament level games. Eastlake had a good hitting team with some HR power and 2 outstanding pitchers, with one of them throwing a no-hitter in Williamsport, besting Palm Island, Florida 1-0. He had dominated Little League hitters all year with a string of 1 and 2 hit games and numerous shutouts. Polished mechanics, a high 3/4 delivery, 2 excellent breaking pitches and a 76 mph heater at age 12.. Good but not great size at 5-8 and 140 but polished and highly advanced.
He is a student at Timber Crest Middle School and next fall will attend Woodinville High School. His name is Eli Jones and he is a Beaver. The first commit in the Oregon State recruiting class of 2027.
GO BEAVS!
