Overall Record Oregon State: 120-143 .456 % Our satisfaction of mediocrity! I really don't want to start a pro/anti Tinkle debate but I Iove how you conveniently don't mention the 2 NCAA tournament berths(OSU's first since 1990), an Elite 8 appearance. OSU's first winning Conference season (10-8 in 2019) since 1990. Two 10 win conference seasons. 5 winning seasons, 1 .500 season and just 2 losing seasons.

Wow....2 NCAA appearances in 7 years and 1 winning conference record in 7 years. Need to extend the contract! Dude you're the one who started the thread with the Our satisfaction of mediocrity! post. Your post makes it sound like he's done zero as the head coach. I was simply posting some of the positives achieved since he took over. If you don't like him that's cool, that's your opinion. Anyway, just my 2 cents. Have a nice day.

Tinkle- 6 seasons of .500 or better in 8.
A bunch of other "the next great hire" - 3 seasons of .500 or better in 23 (and one was a gimme because the CBI took a 13 win OSU team in because of who the coach's family was).
Personally, I'm more inclined to let 2 bad seasons out of 8 slide than 20/21 out of 23... some aren't.
If .500 seasons and below become the routine or the expectation it's time to make a change. I don't think we're there yet.

Unfortunately, the 2 losing seasons were like historically bad seasons for OSU and immediately followed both the NCAA Tournament seasons. I think that plays a big part in it. If they had gone like 12-20 and 13-18 instead of 5-27 and 3-28 maybe there would be less angst.

Overall Record Oregon State: 120-143 .456 % Our satisfaction of mediocrity! It's either .456 or 45.6% just my 0.02¢ Ha! Yes, .456% would have everybody in agreement! Looking for that second win!

As far as the 2 bad seasons some can't let go of go, I put the blame for the first bad season squarely on the condition of the program at the time of Tinkle's hire and the fact that he was hired well after recruiting season had ended. He lost a year to try to repair the program that most new coaching hires get.
Last year though was all on Tinkle. Through a combination of recruiting decisions/defections/coaching/whatever, it was a bad year.
I'm hoping they were both aberrations. If it becomes routine a change should be made. If improvement is occurring, ride it out.

Overall Record Oregon State: 120-143 .456 % Our satisfaction of mediocrity! If you thought the overall record was bad the pac12 record is 53-95 35.8% with ONE winning league season.

Oregon State went 14-10 in Pac-12 play in 2020-21. 6-3 against teams from all other conferences. Oregon State also went to the Tournament at 10-10 in 2016. And those represent the three best conference seasons (and arguably the three best seasons) in the past 31 years. A careful review of context show your points to be pointless. It does not matter how many strokes over par I am, I have still won six holes to your two. Talk about asterisks all that you want. You still owe me $400.00.

I want better.

I want better. Yes, I want Oregon State to win every single game and free tickets and transportation to every game and free concessions. And I want the alumni to have more money than God and to pump in billions into Oregon State University and Beaver athletics. You can s*#t in one hand and hope in the other. Let me know, which one fills up first. Actually, don't. I know the answer already. I want more than I saw in the last two games. I don't know anyone that is super enthusiastic about those two games. But the cure cannot be worse than the disease. And with the current AD, any "cure" that does not include a massive infusion of cash into the system would probably be akin to drinking bleach to try and cure a cold.
