Haven't really watched TCU this year but watching today their QB is a stud. If we had that guy we are in the final 4.

Harrison, Bolden, Gould, Linsey are not good? Sure, they are good. But not CFP good. Sure, but how much better do they look with better qb play? I don’t think Smith was CFP good but the receivers on that 2000 team made him look a lot better than he was. And yes, I know there wasn’t a CFP in 2000.

Yeah because he wouldn’t have to throw. (We still need better receivers.) Harrison, Bolden, Gould, Linsey are not good? Harrison snd Lindsey both had the dropsies early in the year. They ended up having good years. Gould and Bolden look like they could be very good in the future. I think Lowe could be and there may be some others we haven't seen much of yet on the roster. That said, nobody on this team can say they've had a season as good as Newson, Hass, TJ, CJ, Stroughter, Cooks, Wheaton, maybe even older Bolden/Mullaney and a couple others, have had in the last couple decades. Some people blame our QBs, but I bet it's much more a chicken/egg thing. Receiver play has not been the strongest point of this year's team - on the whole it's been somewhat down since Riley left.

Bolden and Gould are going to go wild next year.
I think we'll have acouple tall guys rotating early, mostly Noga, Dunmore and Tongue.
Tongue has a rough year but I honestly still think he will be a huge piece of the puzzle. He's blocked well and he gets open with ease. He has had bad concentration and dropped some baaaaddddd balls. I'm hoping he takes the pain from this year and turns it into improvement.

Lindsay came on at the end,but we have no legit size at wide receiver. Bolden and Gould combined for 22 catches in 12 games. Need an upgrade to be a top team in this conference. Bottom 2-3 receiving corps in this conference. I've watched every team play numerous times.

How much better would our QBs look if our receivers played better? I think we have fairly average skills players except at running back where we have been blessed. But I think that is right in line with a truly crappy team in its rebuild years. From here on out, we should be able to attract better players and even a superstar or two.

But basically, we have great coaches getting the best out of the players we have. As we win more, we’ll get better players.

What I see from Bolden and Gould is huge potential. Both are pretty darned fearless as returners. Bolden specifically has caught a few balls I thought no way should be caught. Gould has dropped a couple but then also made some great catches, I like to think he can get to where he'll catch anything thrown his way since he seems so fearless on punts. I also think he has a better knack for getting open than several kids weve had lately.
If a couple of our new taller kids come on strong we will have a good mix of receivers for opposing teams to deal with.
One of the things OSU had in the past in its best receivers was the ability to "go after" balls when targeted. Newson (biggest biceps of any receiver I recall seeing here, his hand/arms were like the jaws of life), Hass, Stroughter, Cooks, James Rodgers and a couple others had it in spades, Hodgins was getting it before he left, battling for anything thrown his way. Harrison started getting it (that game ender against Stanford was a superb example) this year. If we get a few of those types at the same time we're a much more dangerous team even if the typical "measurables" (height, vertical, 40 time, etc)aren't there.

Did we miss Champ Flemmings this year? Would he have played?

Champ had it when it came to going after anything thrown in his area. Now I have to look up how he's done

At WR Dunmore is set to become the next go to target. The pass catching group will be better in 2023.
