Pine is a third-year player who will have three years of eligibility at his next destination. He started 10 games for Notre Dame this season, leading them to an 8-2 record and finishing No. 20 nationally in individual quarterback efficiency. Pyne threw 22 touchdowns, six interceptions and rushed for 108 yards and two more touchdowns. He completed 64.6-percent of his passes.
He had a 4-1 record against Top 25 teams, which was the most wins against Top 25 competition at Notre Dame in the last decade.

The Transfer Portal doesn't blow up until Monday and already 34 QB transfers have been reported. There is a lot to evaluate but Coach Smith and his staff should have fun shopping. They expect 50-60 QB's will be in the Portal.

ND will be in a Bowl Game. Right? Who's up at QB if Pyne is gone... Pretty much a slap in the face to the coach and the program.....
Have the feeling there's a story here..Maybe a good one...Someone know more about it??? GO BEAVS!!

It's kinda crazy but also not. It's not the coach who recruited him and they had a rough season at 8-4. They want to play a scheme with more QB rushing which doesn't play to his talents at all.
They also have plenty of talent right behind him.

Fun article for those of us who hate what's going on.
Guy probably has bigger stars in his eyes than ourselves, but sure hope we lay off him. Charmed football life from a football family. Not an elite talent. Matt Lovecchio II.

Whether you're a rich program or poor program, there's always something to complain about. It seems like a lot of people don't like this transfer portal stuff. Perhaps they should take the flux-capacitor portal back to 1935.

Not an elite talent. Matt Lovecchio II. Hey, Lovecchio has ice-water in his veins! He's a winner! He'll give the Beavers all kinds of trouble! At least that's what Davies said, before the kid looked like a deer in the headlights against our defense. I still remember Delawrence Grant chasing him across the field and running him down. I sort of felt sorry for him, he had no chance. To his credit, he did beat Oregon at Autzen after transferring to Indiana.

Remember being in Tempe a couple days before the fiesta bowl. A few arrogant notre dame fans (actually there were a lot of arrogant notre dame fans) anyway my buddy and I were talking to a few. They raved about their guy lovecchio. So we asked him how "how fast is he?". They responded by letting us know he doesn't run but he is a great passer. We simply laughed and let them know he won't be fast enough.
