Watched his Junior video and hes a big dude that loves to block. Great size with plenty of frame to play in the 250-260 lb range. Speed looks good but hes so tall its kind of hard to judge. Hands look good. More than anything his blocking is pretty vicious so he should fit in just fine around here. I will also say that with the ball in his hands he isn't a fan of going down, been awhile since we had a TE that consistently blew up tacklers. |

I think Coach Wozniak deserves credit in his recruiting and coaching. We have IMO recruited to this position better talent than any on the team. Teagen and Luke were big time recruits, then Overman who was slightly less recruited, then Velling from Seattle who was offered by Michigan and still stuck with us. 2023 TE commits Cooper Jensen from
Snohomish and Thomas from Kent. Jensen was offered by many big schools including Tennessee. Now the verbal from Wyatt Hook the #27 TE nationally and #60 best California prospect. I think Wozniak is an outstanding coach and I hope we keep him
Just an observation, OSU seems to recruit the state of Washington better than the state of Oregon going back to Coach Riley.

The Beavs and Utes use tight ends the way that they should be used. The pros covet the guy who can beat safeties with size in the slot, but they particularly love those who can block as well as be a threat in the middle of the field as a pass catcher. Our program coaches them up to do both, and they do it well. The way that Velling stepped up when Luke went down was really impressive, and he and Overman have played an important role in our success, not just as a blocker, but also with some timely receptions. I love that we play tough football, and with a more dynamic passer in our offense, our offense will continue to grow as a force to reckon with. I can’t imagine any kid who isn’t just an oversized WR at the position not wanting to play for the Beavs. If they are talented at all, our offense is a great one to get them ready to play on Sundays. |
