Did anyone even watch Clemson? Maybe he'd benefit from a change of scenery, but for the most part he was very average. Accent on very. What I've noticed when I watch other top 20 teams, more often than not their QBs have some of the exact same "problems" ours do... overthrows on long passes, not hitting receivers in stride, throwing behind receivers on crossing routes, throwing too far outside on sideline routes, throwing better when not under pressure than under pressure... all of which have been complaits on this board. Occasionally ypu see a great game, or a QB that does well when plays break down, but on the whole they're not that much better, they're just not ours. When I watch top teams what I usually see is a QB with 5-8 seconds to get the ball out. I also see these guys get decimated in the NFL when they get pushed into service too soon.

Not saying he couldn’t help us, but don’t see the “wow” that a lot of programs in our conference have brought in.

I have a family member who went to Clemson and is a huge fan. They were calling for the backup to play five weeks ago. That said, if our coaches think he can play, I'm good with that. What's up with Slovis? Headed for his third school? His girlfriend must have graduated from Pitt, since that's why he went there in the first place.

Penix was from Indiana. Not a smaller school. True not a smaller school but an irrelevant football school.

Penix was from Indiana. Not a smaller school. True not a smaller school but an irrelevant football school. Indiana football is roughly the Big Ten equivalent to OSU. No Rose Bowl for decades (1967), somewhat regular appearances in mid- to lower-level bowls, occasional 8-9 win seasons.

Since 1993, their best 3 seasons have been 2007 (7-6), 2019 (8-5) and 2020 (6-2). Every other season, they've ended up with a losing record. In that same time frame, the Beavers have had 13 winning seasons. They've won 8 or more games 9 times. I know you said roughly, but I don't believe there's any comparison between the two schools. They are definitely irrelevant in football.

I was using the general time frame of my personal Beavers football fandom. I’m 39 and started attending games and following closely in the early 90’s. Since I’ve been paying attention, Indiana has been far less relevant than Oregon State. If you start after Mike Riley left, it looks much worse for the Beavs.
