The bottom line you recruited freshmen that have the potential to be very good. But they aren't going to get better sitting. Yeah...not sure how he thinks that she's a good matchup for Clark. And I'm surprised he's playing her along with Bendu (or with Mit on the court...I thought he said he was concentrating on adding more athleticism to the team). It doesn't really seem to be making much of a difference. As far as why he's going with her instead of freshmen, it's pretty clear he thinks she plays within the parameters that he requires and he probably doesn't trust the freshmen to do so, at least for long enough stretches. Personally, I'm with you.

Clark reminds a lot of SI in her demeanor and attitude on the court (whiny). Having Lily lighting up three's from the corner would come in handy right now. Only down by 8 after three quarters. I'd call that a gift.

Andrea in the crowd, and a fair number of other OSU fans, looks like a lot more than U of Zero had, just sayin'

Mitrovic was standing inside the restricted arc on that drive by Clark. Should not have been a blocking foul.

Unless she’s ill, I think it’s a big mistake not playing Lily. It diversifies your offense and put a defender with longer arms on the floor.

Well, I'm not sure how much you can take from that game. Bendu is the real deal. Absolutely has to play big minutes. Aaron had her best game of the season so far. I have no doubt that Beers will have a significant impact this season but she can't get into foul trouble. TVO was very good but it's interesting to watch her in comparison to Clark. Rueck chose not to play any of the freshmen except for Beers. Seems to be a somewhat strange decision. Mannion got a lot of minutes. And it will really help to get Gardiner on the floor at some point. Would be nice to seem them defeat Duke.

Iowa defense had our one-note offense contained.

Enjoyed watching and being close for 3.5 quarters. Too bad they couldn't close it out. Agree more Lily and AJ.
I feel that Beavs can beat Duke - handily.
GO BEAVS!

There were certainly both some positives and negatives from this game.
Iowa is a veteran team that has played a lot of minutes together. The starting lineup they played today has pretty much been their starting lineup the past two years. Unfortunately the transfer portal has prevented that luxury for OSU and I think there was definitely times when it showed on the floor.
Thought Shalexxus Aaron was a real plus. She looked just okay against the weaker competition but she rose to the occasion tonight and knocked down some big, timely shots, which was what I envisioned her role would be. Hopefully she can continue to produce.
Thought we really needed more offense from Raegan and Jelena. Czinano is not known for being a strong defender -- but OSU was unable to expose that. Jelena did a nice job on the glass though.
I think we still need some time to come together, especially with Bendu just coming back and Timea being out, but I think this team definitely has some nice potential and I hope we continue to improve as the year goes on.
Scott obviously didn't think Lily and Adlee were ready. Adlee has not seemed ready even against weaker competition, but I was a little surprised Lily didn't get some minutes. Interested to track the development of those two.

I agree with you b-fan....Iowa is a good veteran team with multiple players other than Clark that can knock down clutch shots. Bendu had a poor outside shooting night which hurt our chances but I think she is a better shooter than she showed tonight. Shalexxus finally got untracked and showed us the player we were hoping she would be. Noelle is playing well and being a real pest on defense but she can't hit her outside shots this year which is hurting the offense----might be time to give Martha more of the back-up point guard minutes now that Bendu is starting.

For the first three quarters of the game I was encouraged by how well the Beav's played in this game. The fourth was a real head scratcher, and I think I put blame on the coach. There was waaaay too much standing around, and they needed some fresh blood in there to stir things up. I don't know if the starters were too tired or what but coach needed to either put in someone else or call a timeout and kick some ass.
Lex- Looks like the rust is off!
Bendu- The first two games she's had a rough start offensively and then got it together. We tried leaving Bendu alone with Clark and that did NOT go well. With help after the half things went much better.
AJ- She's starting to do fairly well in rebounding but on offense we need her to be the team energizer rodent (keeps replacing the obvious word) the and no one has pointed that out to her. Or the coaches schemes has her doing all of that standing around and someone needs to tell Scott that that's not useful.
Mit- If she can keep herself positive about herself she can learn a lot from this game. Defensively her Rating was far better than anyone else on the team, and had twice the rebounds of anyone not named Clark. Her shots were over pumped, she needed someone to help her calm down (if that's possible) so that she could take time on her shots.
Talia- Number 2 in both offensive and defensive Rating. The only person who did better was someone named Clark.
Mannen- Seeing her pick Clarks pocket twice made the whole game for me. And yes, it's true that her playing so many minutes isn't ideal. But take a look at her +/-, she's either first or second in each game.
Beers- I think adrenaline got the best of her.
Martha- Really? Not 30 seconds at the end of the game? Her father all the way from Germany! Nothing? Really? Come on coach, have a heart.
