Interesting that he’s getting PT today after our bigs were in so much foul trouble yesterday. Figured he was a complete project based on that but maybe he will contribute this year after all.

how’s he look? Can’t watch game, so just checking on box score. He got a bucket, but he get fouled on his other shot attempt and just bricked 2 FT's. He's big, that's for sure I see he has a block too. Well Beavs have out scored FL 20-11 to finish out the half. That’s something. |

Yeah, only thing I can think of is WT didn’t want to throw him into that kind of game for his first appearance. This game less pressure considering score. Or is Andela hurting with back to back games? |

Slow start really put them behind the eight ball. Showing signs of good play in spurts but much better than last year. Going to be some growing pains with a young team but are headed in the right direction.

Funny this is a terrible effort. Down 20 . Shamefully the worst D 1 team in the State. What a laugh.. I guess they think they can play hard once and not twice. Not worth watching. They actually split the screen to show the better game .

Yesterday, they exceeded all expectations and today, they struggled. Big deal. Let’s wait and see how the next game goes. |

Unfortunately — or maybe fortunately — I wasn’t able to watch the game yesterday, so just a few things based on the box score.
1. Very surprised Ibekwe saw his first game action. Hopefully now WT gets him enough action during the season to see some development.
2. If you told me that Beavers would only have 9 turnovers, I would have said “hell, yeah, what a great game against Florida.” Well, not so much. Beavers aren’t going to win many games when Taylor has 6 turnovers. That’s two-thirds of team’s TOs. In fact, all 9 TOs were committed by the team’s “veterans” who were on team last year.
3. Curious to hear people’s thoughts about Taylor’s offensive performance. Only 8 shots by Taylor likely isn’t enough for a team that struggles offensively to win. I said before the game that I hoped WT would have some early plays fo get GTJ off the snide. Doesn’t seem like that happened. Run some screen and double screen action to get him some easy looks.
4. Pope continues to be impressive. Played 39 minutes, went 12-2-5 with a steal and no TOs. Can’t imagine what this team would look like if he wasn’t on it.
5. Very happy that WT got some of these freshmen some extended minutes against a quality opponent in a game that got out of hand early. And from the stat sheet, it would appear that both Bilodeau and Rataj responded well. Bilodeau had 5 FGs made, just 2 short of the number he had in first 5 games. He also had his first two 3s as well as his first blocked shot. And after a pretty empty game against Duke, Rataj set his season high in points with 11 on 5-6 shooting and had his first 3 in a Beaver uniform. I will be looking to see if these two can build off their performances yesterday. If they can, team might have enough scoring options to make this year interesting.
Certainly not the result we were hoping for after a very nice performance against Duke. But I was “encouraged” to see that for the final 32 minutes of the game, the Beavers out scored Florida 59-50. Now I know many of those minutes included our bench against theirs, but for a young team that could be something to build on. Certainly better than them quitting.
Next up Portland State. Really interested in seeing how the team responds after losing 3 straight, including 1 to PSU. Would love to see some fight and the team get some revenge for the Gill loss. Go Beavs!
