I love how they just lean all over us on D, and then we are whistled for phantom calls against our big on a wild shot down low.

Getting completely schooled on the glass. We're getting boxed out on defensive rebounds.

Can't buy a RB. Hard to win when you give up 2nd chances nearly every trip down the floor

Wow. Refs bailed Duke out with that timeout.

Wow. Refs bailed Duke out with that timeout. Yeah, maybe got the timeout in time, but if that had been Beavs not sure they would have gotten same call.

OMG! Fire Tinkle!! They lost by three points to the 8th ranked team! How incompetent can he be? He's a bureaucrat, not a coach! Fire him now!!

Sucks to lose after that effort but lots to build on.

Well certainly some good things on which to build. Team didn’t play scared. Duke real active on boards, and when you’re that active you get fouled — and get rebounds. Akanno missing first of one and one late hurt (though he did hit two after that). Taylor was driving me nuts going in too deep against Duke’s length with no real plan. Needs to channel Pope and take the mid range shot. And speaking of Pope — he good.
Had a chance, didn’t get it done, but they’ll learn from this. Go Beavs!

Duke looks like they want it more. Hopefully we can turn it up some because we're absolutely in this game. Kind of embarrassing that there is more blue in the crowd than orange, in Portland. Of course…not surprised after 3 wins season last year.

Of course…not surprised after 3 wins season last year. You know, I get it. Yes, last year was an abomination. The year before that we went on a wild ride to the last 8. Last year is last year, unless you are just looking for more reasons to can our coach. I have to say, moral victories are lame and kind of the stuff of losers. But, this team should feel pretty good after this game. Took #8 to the wire. One thing that was missing for sure was our fans. Beaver nation really disappointing today. City of 2 million people, and maybe 50 orange clad fans in the crowd. That's pathetic. You would think we won 3 games in the last decade. I'm not giving myself a pass either. I live in Portland and didn't find a way to get down there. It's too bad, because a strong showing from our fans might have made a difference in this game. Duke got the white glove treatment by refs in the game, and who could blame them. They probably thought they were the home team when they looked around. Also, kind of a glaring weakness at the 4 for this team. Really wish we had Rand flying around out there today crashing the weak side boards. Just couldn't match Duke on the boards without a guy like that on the floor.

Just watched it on DVR. Wow….very impressed w the effort. We were forced to move without the ball much more due to their pressure D in the half court set and that made us like better at times. Normally we have 3 guys just standing around in our man to man offense. Besides Duke’s size which was obviously problematic, being in zone and having CM have to be out of position to help other guys, really contributed to the rebounding issues. Getting the Georgia and ASU transfers back healthy will be a nice boost.

Also props to Choi. His boxscore doesn’t show much. But he completely altered Duke’s shot selection and limited what they could do. His presence hurt their shooting percentage and was one of the reasons they had trouble scoring. Now if we just had more rebounding when he had to help and cut off a teammate’s man driving to the hoop….
