Part of the issue w our offense is when we’re in our half court sets Wayne’s offense is anything but fluid. It’s 1-2 guys moving and everyone else standing around or moving a step or two watching the action or maybe getting ready to screen. Not a motion offense at all

Too many turnovers early, PSU got hot late. We lost some composure as the game got down under 8 minutes. Not surprising for a young team. Possibly already thinking about Duke? Really curious to see how we come out in that game early. Does it matter how we come out against duke? The ending is going to be bad, real bad. |

Why is it that a coach in his 8th year has a terrible roster due to very poor recruiting in that year and prior years and in his 9th year gets a pass regarding the roster?

That’s more on the coach |

Only watched the first half before East coast time zone caught up to me. To say the least iI was disappointed when I checked the score. In the first half the team just seemed a half step slower than usual and Akanno wasn’t playing well. Unfortunately, this team can’t withstand a down game from one of its top players — especially when shooting 15% from 3. One stat that really stood out was only 9 points off turnovers, while PSU had 21. Nit going to win too many games when Taylor and Akanno have a combined 9 turnovers.
Well on to the next. Not like we thought the team would go undefeated after all, especially with Duke coming up. Would have been nice to get a win here before heading into at least 2 tough games at the PK Legacy. Interestingly, there is a real decent shot that we end up playing Portland State in our 3rd game in tourney.
Any word on Andela? Did he come back in the second half? Gonna be an ugly stretch if he’s not available. And looks like we are indeed going to try and redshirt Ibekwe as I don’t believe he’s played in any of these games so far.

So you're really saying the players are bad, since they make up the roster. More concisely, bad roster = bad players. Thanks for clearing that up for the rest of us. Thanks for clearing that up for the rest of us. And why should players ever get a pass for bad performances? Don't the players have the most control over how they perform? You're reading what you want to read. I didn't say they'd get a pass for bad performances. And, maybe I need to spell it out better for some of you --- I give the players a pass because there are so many new ones that they are still learning how to play as a team. They may be every bit as bad as you want them to be [Re: PSU], but it's too early to tell. I do hold the coach accountable because he let a few bad apples spoil the Elite-8 team and create the dramatic turnover in personnel. How about some of you take a suppository and see what this team looks like on January 1st? |
