The beavs are playing an naia school. NAIA! Not even an ncaa division. With the supposed talent difference should have at least doubled the score. Since its NAIA does it even count in the record? Yea it's a win.

Yea it's a win. OSU won 3 GAMES!!! last season. Almost a completely new roster for OSU. Should they have won by more? perhaps. I'll take any win that they can get this season. Counts for OSU but is actually considered an exhibition game for Bushnell, so it doesn't count for them.

They probably would have beaten us last year. As people look down their noses at Bushnell, #40 Hoffman poured in 27 points on us. Interesting team.

Ended up being a quality game. OSU let Bushnell stay in the game and build confidence, and they played well. Definitely not a great game by OSU, but some good things. It was clear that OSU could ramp up the defense and run away from Bushnell, but they only did that a couple of times; I assume it was by design to not do more of that - I'm glad they didn't because they'd have gotten a lot less out of the game (since they won't be beating other teams by just forcing TOs with overwhelming athleticism).
Still a lot to work through on our offensive system; spacing and angles were really bad a times.

You didn’t need binoculars to see that we should beat Bushnell.

Got to 3-0. Wazzu lost to Prairie A&M and Cal lost to UC San Diego (after losing to UC Davis). I'd rather be gaining experience while winning than not.

The big take home from me is the team kept working the offense unselfishly. Guys were looking for the open man or trying to work it inside for the most part. There have been seasons where that wasn't the case.

Question for the board or, was it just me?:
Watching the game last night, in the second half, Taylor seemed kind of ticked off and also seemed to turn into a black hole. Did anyone else notice this? Did he get fouled particularly hard? Did Tinkle chew him out for something?
Was it just me?

Yea it's a win. That is the key phrase: "the supposed talent difference." Bushnell had some pretty good athletes out there. Yes, OSU should have handily beaten them, but OSU is also a young team with a lot of new parts and a couple of Bushnell's guys really had some good basketball talent. I think a lot of teams would be happy to have, for example, Hoffman playing at the 4 or 5. So...we get a closer game than we wanted. Still a win, still undefeated, still doing some good things as a team.

Beavs have their hands full tonight. Bushnell used to be NW Christian College. Seems like some *uck hopefuls go there to play? Maybe someone knows the whole story? Heard Parker say that we got Kylor Kelly from there. So maybe it is kids trying to get noticed by Hole. I could see one kid moving out of there next year if he has eligibility. I’m not too proud to try to lure away the best player on an opposing team.

I didn’t see the game last night, but I commented on something similar after game 2 — though I likely said he was pressing or trying to do too much. Come to think of it, it might have been more apparent in second half that game, but can’t say for certain. Possibly at half, Wayne is telling him he needs to be more assertive on offense and that’s his reply. Or maybe it’s a frustration thing — getting fouled or doesn’t think he’s getting enough touches. Definitely something to keep an eye on.

My Takeaways: We have equaled our Win total from last year, with many opportunities to improve upon it. Thus far in the very early season, we have beaten the teams we should be beating. We can debate margins and flavor of win, but it's nice to debate wins and not debacles. This team has some talent, and since most of the names are basically unknowns to me, I can approach watching this team with a clean slate (i.e. no baggage from last year) Since none of the players share last names with any of the coaches, the "coaches sons" debate/baggage is gone as well. The team seems to play well together, shares the ball, play more as a team, try to rebound and defend, etc. There are lots of intriguing players where we can see the potential for growth and improvement.
(Edit/Add: Kudos to WT to recruiting talented youngsters and playing the transfer portal game to the extent he has assembled a credible team. I am not the biggest WT fan, but I have to acknowledge that I am impressed and pleased with what he has done in this regard!)
I am just thrilled to have some OSU MBB that I can watch without constantly yelling at the screen or losing interest and wandering off :-). Here's hoping it lasts!
Go Beavers!

Definitely something to keep an eye on. He was certainly assertive, but he wasn’t missing much either. Looked to me like he was told to look to score aggressively. We do not have many guys on this team who can go get a shot when the shot clock is running out, and he’s probably the best option we have to fill that role.

This is a team I can get behind. Play unselfish...play hard. Young kids trying to mesh and make a strong UNIT...not just looking for their own stats. Pope,Bilodeau,Rataj are all kids who can play already. Taylor,Andela,Ryuny, and Akanno look to be PAC-12 level players. Choi is a kid who I think will get better and better as the year goes on...he hasn't played for two years so he has rust. If nothing else,a rim protector at 7-1 or intimidator. We have some pieces...still going with 11-14 wins in 22-23.
