Cal played Notre Dame pretty close in the Citi Shamrock Classic. The Bears are looking pretty tough.
I would hate to be one of the announcers at that event and have to navigate Citi Shamrock Classic without a potentially big slip of the tongue.

That's good for Cal. Last year they wiped the floor with some lower level teams early in OOC, but then didn't put up much of a fight against Arkansas and Ole Miss. Notre Dame is supposed to be back to being really good, so it bodes well Cal hung with them. I missed the game. Just looking at the box score, Curry scored a bunch but not efficiently. They have 2 inter conference transfers starting for them--Tuitele from Colorado and Martin from Utah.

Yeah, it's early but Notre Dame definitely passes the eye test...and Cal does look tougher, for sure

One has to wonder how the Notre Dame announcer, who mangled the names Pivec, Grymek, and Rueck a few years ago (because he didn't care enough to learn the proper pronunciation) did with that one. |
