Following NSD, Oregon State's 17 man recruiting class has been ranked number 20 by Rawlings-Perfect Game and number 21 by Baseball America. The prevailing opinion among the Analysts is, the Beavs have a deep and talented class with superb pitching prospects.
Baseball America has 19 of the Nations top 25 classes from the SEC and ACC, Perfect Game has 21 of the top 25 classes from the SEC and ACC.
The PAC-12's top class is the super class recruited by UCLA - 7 of the 17 man class are Top-100 players. The Bruins rank number 3 Nationally with both BA and RPG. That class may be headed to the B1G next Conference year. BA has UCLA at #3, UO at #14, OSU at #21 and Stanford at #22. RPG has UCLA at #3, OSU #20, and UO #22,
Mitch Canham's Beaver coaching staff is "stacking" talented classes. The preliminary outlook for the 2024, '25 and '26 classes is really impressive. Mitch and his young staff have upped the ante on attracting top tier talent to the Beaver baseball program.

Really good class. Definitely worried about Wilson not ending up in Corvallis, but I think we have a shot. Caraway and DeCremer also look legit. DeCremer already into the mid 90s this summer, a little concern there. I bet Caraway ends up on campus.
Dark horse stud for me, Ty Doucette. Big kid, great looking swing, physically reminds me a bit of a beefier Larry Walker. (No pressure Ty.) I think he's going to be really good.
Lots of arms though, I think it's a really strong class.

Four more expected to sign next week.
Segura Doucette Palmer Green
Does that sound right?

The "Official" '23 recruiting class was announced today and it included 17 recruits, all of them were identified here on the baseball recruiting board.
We are now in the "late signing period" which runs until August 1st, 2023. It's possible Ty Doucette and Spencer Green could sign during the late period as well as any JC or Portal transfers that appeal to the coaching staff.

Any idea why Doucette and Green didn't sign now? Do you expect that they do later?

HOW MANY DID WE LOSE to the pros? This class won't be drafted until next year. We could lose a couple, but hopefully not.

This class has one more season of high school ball to play and a half dozen of them are being followed by MLB Scouts in the spring.
Like most OSU classes we are exposed to risk at the Pitching position. Caraway is high risk (projects as the 5th selection in 3rd round by Baseball America) and even earlier with the PG assessment.
There is a price to be paid when you sign top tier talent. Savage at UCLA views it as a "numbers game" He hopes to keep more of the top prospects in his class than the Pro's can draft and sign. UCLA and Vandy take big hits every year. We've been lucky so far. We lost Gough but keeping Turley was a "Stunner".

Any idea why Doucette and Green didn't sign now? Do you expect that they do later? According to Baseball Northwest, Green sports a 2.0 GPA
