Perfectly legal in Mississippi in 1957 (unless, of course, you were already married as JLL was💒). Not to minimize that sort of thing but Myra’s quote has always stuck with me, to wit: “Yes, I was 13 when I married Jerry Lee but there’s no question, I was the adult in that relationship”. |
