The NCAA is facing a wrongful death lawsuit from the widow of Mathew Gee, a former USC player.
This could be the first to reach the jury.

My question is why isn't USC included inn the lawsuit?

Usually, it is easier to sue a faceless organization like the NCAA rather than a beloved (by several) regional university. If you could get jurisdiction over USC outside of LA, you might have something there.
