Bad day for I-5 South. One horrific accident and then another in the afternoon. Be safe out there, everybody. Your car isn’t that much protection when you’re hurtling down the freeway at those crazy high speeds.
Is it me or does anyone else notice that the traffic speed on I-5 South (say, from Salem down) clips along at a much faster rate than I-5 North (say from Salem up) despite only having two lanes?

Sixty five vehicles involved. Unreal. Fog SHOULD remind folks to slow the hell down, drive defensively, and keep one’s head on a swivel. But….no. Everybody is in a goddamn hurry, and the stretch between Eugene and Salem is woefully inadequate to handle the traffic. ODOT screwed the pooch years ago by NOT widening that stretch of the 5. Even when the skies are clear, the position of old Sol this time of year makes it very hard to see clearly at times. Think ahead. Slow down.
