All in just over 100 games ! Thanks Baltimore’s front office He would have started the season in Baltimore but was injured when they broke camp. He then had a rehab assignment in Bowie and Norfolk to get in game shape. Keeping him in the minors last year was about getting an extra season of control. Keeping him in the minors this year was about getting him healthy. As it was, he still struggled for the first 40 games or so and was hitting only .210 as of July 15.

If Baltimore was sand bagging to manipulate Adley’s time their plans might have been foiled. Under the new collective bargaining agreement if Adley finishes 1st or 2nd in rookie of the year voting he will be rewarded a full year of service time

Words can't describe his value to the Orioles.
So I'll toss this out there.
The "Quants" now fix his WAR at 5.1 . . . and climbing.
That next contract is going to be a Doozie!

It will be interesting to see if Baltimore goes the Mariner route with Julio and tries to sign him to a long term deal now, so as to avoid having to offer him a $1 billion contract in 2028.....and no, the way contracts are going, that may not be an exaggeration.

Rutsch got things going about June 10. His cumulative stats still looked bad on July 15 because he was 8/56 in his first 15 games. He slashed .248/.333/.495 from June 10-July15. His season stats would look a lot better without those first 15 games. From June 10-today he slashed .275/.386/.491

The next contract has no relationship in time to the Rutschman career. That day will come, but in the meantime Baltimore fans can enjoy and savor every game the man plays in the days ahead.
Obviously, the Oriole franchise is currently being built around him and rightfully so. The question is, will the club remain on this aggressive re-building track with different leadership, or if the club is sold.
Currently, there is considerable uncertainty in Baltimore.

He was up to .234 on June 27 after his first game in Seattle. Then he hit .163 (8-49) until July 15 and dropped down to .210. Then he started hitting. Pitchers adjusted, then he adjusted back. It's a constant battle in MLB.
